Picture overload coming up!!
Maybe it was the retro underwear, maybe it was the fact that I've been immersed in Mad Men and my course material from History of Narrative Film, but I was in the mood to go a bit retro again with my outfit. I quite like the way it turned out! Somewhere between sensible Peggy Olsen, carefree Jean Seberg and stylish Faye Dunaway as Bonnie Parker.
Haha, before I googled pictures I had NO idea how literal my translation was. I just mentioned a few names from the top of my head and there you have my outfits: Faye beret and hair on top, Jean striped jersey and Peggy checkered skirt! Sort of awesome in a weird way. But I add my own touch with the dotted tights! I guess this really proves I'm head over heels with the more "functional" or "casual" sixties styles. I mean I love a good Twiggy dress with miniskirts etcetera, but that look feels so overplayed. Peggy isn't all "hey look at me, I'm so sixties", she just looks put together and cute! Is it obvious that I LOVE Peggy? And Jean Seberg has a horrible accent in À Bout de Souffle, but DAYUM is she gorgeous and stylish? Such an inspiration. Whenever I see pictures of her, she makes me want to run over to the nearest hairsalon and DEMAND a boy cut. Actually, once upon a time she got me to do it:
me and my bro
I'm definitely going back there one day, but not right now. I just love being able to tuck my hair behind my ears and wear it up in a ponytail!
Got around to taking pics of my UNMENTIONABLES
skirt: vintage and altered myself
tights, winter coat, gloves: H&M
beret: old
shoes: Zara
top, belt: Pimkie
Bras: all H&M
THANKS to my girl Jessie for following me, haha :D I actually just want to thank ALL my followers and especially those that comment on my little blog almost every single day, I love our little exchanges and I love that you guys check up on me and think of me! I hope I shed a little sunshine on your day :)
I love this outfit post!
ReplyDeleteI also loved that almost half of the post was about your "untemtionables". They're all so pretty!
Bonnie Parker is my 4th cousin. She was my great grandfathers 1st cousin.
It's a small world, isn't it?

Wow, you look so classy and stylish and sexy! I love how you put all the patterns together <3
ReplyDeleteBut most of all, OH MY GOD I SO LOVE THE SHORT HAIRCUT ON YOU! (Had to write it in capitals to express how much I love it :)) It's simply irresistible with the combination with your fawn eyes! I must admit I always wear short hair and I'm now only waiting for spring to come, so I can fling away my hats and go for a supercute pixie cut :)
Have a lovely evening!
Andrea
Meganne: oh wow that is so cool! She is such an interesting person, I love her poems for example! It's a small world indeed :)
ReplyDeleteAndrea: haha thanks so much :D I'm probably crazy but I feel like my eyes have shrunk in comparison to back then so maybe it wouldn't look as good! :D
la petite marmosete: actually I ate a croissant this morning! maybe THAT's the reason! :D
This is such a gorgeous outfit! It looks amazing, and all comes together so well. It really is the perfect mixture of all your inspiration photos. Love love love!

Wow you look stunning, and your inspirations are truly great! I adore Jean Seberg in A Bout de Souffle (nearly as much as yummy JP Belmondo), and must say you really look adorable with the boy crop, it really suits you. I had short hair a few years back and it's fun, but I know what you mean about being able to do more stuff with it when it's long. Love this post anyway xx
