My hair is at that point where it doesn't seem to do anything right anymore, which makes me want to cut it, but I DON'T want to cut it so I have to stay strong. I just have to push through this fase. I like having longer hair again after years of short hair, and I sort of want to see how far I'll go before I get utterly sick of it again!
Maybe it's not my hair, maybe it's in my mind. I'm in a style funk too, not really loving any of the outfits I put together and really lacking coherent inspiration. Probably the sad weather. Not cold, not warm, not sunny, not raining, just clouded. So depressing.
Hope your weekend is more fun! Don't forget to check me out on Tumblr and Twitter! I postponed getting my own Tumblr/Twitter for ages, not knowing what I'd do with them, but I absolutely love these networking sites now. Tumblr is like the heart behind my blog, the place where you get a deeper peak into my inspirations and the things that go on in my mind. And Twitter is just such a fun place to keep in touch with my blogbuddies. Hope to see you there!

I live in Oregon, where it's horribly gray and overcast much of the year, so I understand how the weather can make for a real bad style funk. If it brightens your day at all, this is exactly what I want to wear to break my own funk!
ReplyDeleteYour tumblr is one of my favourites :)
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit - especially your nails! :) You look great!
I feel the same. I've been dying to cut my hair shorter and like you, I wanna grow it again.
ReplyDeleteThe tropical summer is just burning hot and shorter hair will help you cool down but must not cut my hair in the next three months.
Have a Happy Weekend! :)
This is really gorgeous. Particularly the skirt and shoes! xxx
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit as always! The sweater is awesome! :D
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I agree with the weather..its making me not want to get dressed at all, haha

i know that length, nog vis nog vlees, but your hair looks so healthy. anyway, i love the outfit, the dots looks so sweet and i love the fact that there are two colors. the sweater looks gorgeous, i love the beige color and the details around the neck. what a fabulous idea to wear it with a belt to emphasize your waist.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to do to my hair, a part of me wants to cut it shorts and another wants to let it grow even more, looks like we're in similar situations!
ReplyDeleteAnd I really like this outfit, neutral is so refreshing when the "colour blocking" is all over the place, but I hope you get better on the inspiration side. I tend to visit my tumblr archives for it a lot :)
This sounds exactly how I've been feeling! Both about my hair (yours looks great, but I know what you mean, I actually wore mine up today because it was doing such weird stuff) and about lack of inspiration. Blahh. Come on sunshine and summer!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really neat combination though, loving the delicately printed dress under the fair isle, and that belt is the perfect addition! And the pale blue nails are so lovely and unexpected :D

I know what you mean about your hair. I had a pixie cut in high school, and when I decided to grow it out again it took years before it got back into a normal, bob-like state instead of being awkwardly long at the bottom and short at the top. It's so hard to push through the shoulder-length phase, I've given in and chopped it off again multiple times.

Lady this is wonderful! The polka dot skirt is the perfect length and goes so well with the sweater. ughhh...I hate my hair sometimes. I just want it to be manageable. I think you hair looks wonderful!! And I also understand all about the style funk,. I have been bored lately with my closet.
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit and I love your nails! I think your hair looks awesome, I want to cut mine because the ends are all dead, and I imagine it'll end up lookin' a bit like yours, which I really like! Thanks for stoppin' by my blog, I love yours, your banner does remind me of my outfit :). I'm following you!

I really love the color combination, such pretty nude/tan colors. And that sweater is wonderful, perfect details!

ReplyDeleteI love the neutral look on you, though you look great in colors too. I actually really need a hair cut. I have absolutely no style what so ever right now. Which of course makes me hate everything in my closet. It's a never ending vicious cycle!
ReplyDeleteXOXO
I don't see why you are in a style funk. I think everything you wear is dreamy and pretty. Plus you have great legs for pulling off the midi length skirts/dresses. And Yay!! You have twitter now! I'll be following you, for sure:)
ReplyDeletesupa cute! i love the nailpolish :)
ReplyDeleteahh im having one of those uninspired moments with getting dressed right now too, i feel like ive suddenly forgotten what i like to wear? stupid. this is a nice lady like combo tho, i love the skirt.
ReplyDeleteI love the whole outfit! The cardigan shoulder detail is stunning!

I don't know what you mean when you're saying that your outfits are nothing special..I think they get better and better. Like this one, I really love it from head to toe. ;-) But I think such a phase is quite normal. As I started with my fashion diet, means try to buy nothing silly or useless I have the feeling that my closet is boring and that I always wear the same pieces.
ReplyDeleteTo mix old pieces in different ways need more creativity that always buying new things.
You already know I loooove this look, the dress is just amazing. I love how you can wear black and white with tan and it looks AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean with the hair- mine always seems to be in between- growing a fringe out or growing a short style out.. love the outfit you've put together though, I've got those New Look sandals and have yet to wear them out this year! xx
ReplyDeleteYou may feel lacking in inspiration, but I actually love this. You look like a film noir heroine with that silhouette. : )
ReplyDeleteI have a tumblr which I'm currently keeping under wraps until I have time to invest in it... I'll check yours out pronto.
I felt the same way about my hair in september. I was decided to cut it short again, but then my hairdresser didn't have time for me so I stayed strong. lovely outfit!
ReplyDeleteWederom weer een goede outfit, lieve stipjes^^
ReplyDeleteMy hair is also at a really terrible point - I am pretty close to just chopping it all off because I can't take it much more!

P.S. I love the pale blue nail polish!
Hush your complaining now, lady. YOU HAVE ON BEAuTIFul SHOES! And think how sad you would feel if you didn't have a sweater to layer? My sweater-layering days are over, and I am already sick of t-shirts..Do you ever wear a ponytail? I used to do that every day when my hair was your length...
ReplyDelete♥nice post.)) love your blog♥
ReplyDeleteBefore I read your post and as I scroll down through the 1st picture I was thinking "gosh her hair looks gorgeous" ... so don't do anything to it!! it looks great so don't touch it ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you're on Twitter, I'm there too so don't be shy. I haven't tried out Tumblr... unsure about it, but maybe I should?

love the ring - cute
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so pretty!! I never would have thought of combining black and white polka dot with a neutral- the two look gorgeous together because the tan color softens the black and white.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry- the weather in NYC is HORRIBLE, too, and my hair is annoying me, too ^-^ I think it's the time of year, and yes, that annoying point of growth where your hair is at a weird length.
SO gorgeous, love the skirt and those shoes.
