Told you guys I would be wearing this parka a lot. I can't remember the last time I've dressed this casual, but I quite like it! Don't worry, I won't be turning to slacks and grubby t-shirts anytime soon, but whenever spring rears its pretty head I find myself yearning for simpler times and the sort of style I used to have back in high school. Now, I wouldn't have worn something exactly like this back then, but I wore converse religiously and jeans + some sort of "cool" jacket were pretty much a staple. This is like the slightly more grown up version of that easygoing uniform. I like the all american vibe this gives off. I'd love to wear this with rainboots to go strolling through fields on the countryside or something. Or ride a bicycle. This is like the perfect bike riding outfit.
And I didn't feel like washing my hair so this is what I did with it. Longer hair is easy like that.
parka, blouse: H&M
glasses: Claire's
shorts: Levi's, vintage at T2
sneakers: Converse
Spring is the only season that I turn whole-heartedly to things like jeans. I think it's the changeable temperatures and the fact that, like you say, I just want simplicity in my life. If I had Converse I'd wear those too!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I wouldn't at all mind a slacks and grubby t-shirt post!
Love this outfit! Perfect for spring!!! :D And yes, I love that when I don't feel like washing my hair I can just put it up :p

I love it! I like how the floral top makes it girlie still even though you got the chucks and cutoffs and parka all together! i'll have to copy this on a lazy day.
ReplyDeleteI love this. It's also quite reminiscent of my high school wardrobe. Anyway, you pull it off so well.
ReplyDeleteLove your sunglasses! This look is so breezy and casually chic, the floral print shirt is great.

Parkas, blouses, and denim shorts are perfect for spring. I dig this. It does seem very Americana! I used to wear "Cons" all the time in high school. I was a high tops, girl, though. I had purple super high-tops, and I would fold down the edge and tie my laces around it to show off the inner lining, which had a peacock print. Pretty cool! Hahaha. I read and enjoyed your feminism post very much, but didn't have a chance to comment... One day!!
ReplyDeleteI love how you combined these laid back styles in such a chic way! You definitely know how to rock the converse :)
