This one goes out to all of you out there who still don't believe that thrift shops are basically heaven on earth: this dress is vibrant red and a superthin, sheer cotton and I am in love. Price: 6 euro. BOOYA. I played up the grecian-esque pleats with a braided theme (belt, headband, sandals) and added a floppy hat for some southern belle poise. Elegant and vibrant, just the way I like it!
I love that I have acquired quite a few midi dresses over the past months, can't wait to find a way to wear them this fall. Yeah, I guess I'm sort of kind of slightly accepting the crappy fall weather over here and just GOING with it you know, like, I mean, you know, you just have to make lemonade and shit with lemons god gave ya, right? Sigh :( Let us dream of beautiful coats and boots and warm faux fur scarves and layering, the only upsides to fall and winter since christmas is never what that chubby coca cola guy made you believe it'd be. I dare you not to swoon for five seconds or more when you see the frontpage here! Perfect F/W inspiration, n'est-ce pas? My emphasis lies on finding the right pair of boots. I have heavy requirements: no heel (not practical for class/snow), elegant, flattering and goes with everything. Tips? I'm leaning towards a black lace up brogue boots kinda thing but I'll have to find the perfect pair first.
ANYWAY enough of this! I'm sure there is some summer left to be had! (this is the moment when a movie would cut to me during october saying "NOPE" while standing in the rain). FADE OUT
hat: I am

ReplyDeletethat is what i call an interesting look! you could have easily wear it with some killer heels, but the metallic sandals make it a lot more interesting! i am completely in love with that delicate fabric! look at the sleeves, creates a perfect shape! of course the belt brakes up the monotone color and i love it!

You look beautiful in red. I loveeeeeeee this dress. woo! Great hat. I need to rewatch Gone with the Wind for the 12394103735th time now (it's my favorite book and film)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this dress on you, you look so beautiful & classy!! Love how it's a long, flowy vintage dress but you dressed it down with the sandals & added a classy touch with the big hat, just perfect for summer (even if it's crap weather over there!). I swear this dress is from Mexico, they make shirts just like the bottom part with the ribbon. But this must have been awhile ago & they've since stopped & only make shirts that do not at all do this dress justice. Thanks again for all your sweet compliments! & for boots, I'd say scour ebay, that's where I got all mine, all for less than $20!
ReplyDeletewonderful dress! I just bought my first red dress and now I love them all :)
