Casual Cat

FIRST OF ALL PLEASE vote for my collage here and help me win a 100 euro River Island gift voucher!!!

Remember my tip from yesterday concerning titles? Well, here's another example for you: my outfit is casual and I'm going to show you some pics of one of my cats so there you have it, casual cat! I'm telling you, I should really copyright this idea of mine, ideas like these only come around once in a LIFETIME!

Ok enough ridiculousness. Y'all come around here for pictures of my outfits, so I must oblige!

I like dressing down during the weekends. When you're not really into fashion, your style pie chart would divide into mostly casual outfits, some smart outfits and one or two fancy outfits every so often. But when you're part of the stylish crowd, that division soon changes into dressing smart/being dressed up like 90% of the time and going casual once in a while. Weird, but I prefer it that way. Life has a lot more sparkle when you dress up.

The strangest thing to me is actually that a "fashionista's" version of casual is nothing like a normal person's casual. Normal person casual: grab what's nearest and throw it together, depending on weather and the planning of the day ahead.
Fashion person casual: grabbing items associated with normal person casual and putting a twist on them so your outfit still looks styled and calculated, but with a dressed down edge. Nope, we are never truly casual. Unless we are sick of course, or at home when it's REALLY hot. In that case I usually just mope around in an oversized t-shirt and my underpants, nothing too photogenic about that.

So yeah, here's my faker casual outfit for you guys! Cutoff hipster vintage Levis, leopard loafers that I secretly call my P.I.M.P. slippers, a cutesy lace version of a regular white T and an effortlessly oversized cardigan. Must not forget: a satchel, the it bag of the year. Fashionista casual 101!

T-shirt: H&M altered by me
cardi: Pimkie
shorts: vintage Levis from T2
loafers, bag: Zara
sunnies: H&M
belt: boyfriend's
ring: Alex Monroe

Don't worry, I didn't forget the cat pics I promised you! Here's my ginger cat, Rostie. He's a sweetie, always wants to cuddle and really fat after being spayed.

I think he stepped into some gum, you can see it on his paw. Stupid cat!

So biiiiiiiiig and cuddly! He's sleeping on my legs right now as we type. Enjoy your Saturday babes!

  2. Aww you cat looks so cuddly. :)

I will agree with you on the whole 'fashionistas dressing casually' thing. The people we are surrounded by really do affect the way we dress. I remember in high school (I went to a private school with a sort of uniform/dress code regulation), a lot of girls were starting to wear their flats with socks. I too began following that trend. And where I go to college, about half of the people there love to look cute. But there must be a fine line between looking chic but effortless and looking like you're trying to impress someone. haha

Those leopard loafers are DARLING! I am just a big fan of loafers. They have sturdier feel than flats and definitely have more class.

  6. I want to wear this. Right now. You do casual really well, and yeah, I know, a fashion-person's casual is way different than normal person casual, and I like that fact. My favorite part is the top...but the shorts are a close runner-up! Levi's FTW.

    Happy weekend!

  8. Awww, he's such a cutie! Ginger animals are the best :)

In response to your comment, I actually didn't make it to round 3, which is just as well since I'm going to be in Europe during NYFW for school. The people at Nokia asked if I wanted to try the phone, so I just went with it!

  23. When I really want to do no brainer casual, I wear a playsuit. Or what I wore the day before, but without any accessories, that's always a favourite. But I agree, half the time, that still looks a bit dressy by "normal person standards!"
