CHELSEA GIRL: River Island



Sorry for the picture overload, I always get super snap-happy when the sun is shining. I had been planning to wear this red skirt (my favorite skirt in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD) with this DIY croptop for agesssss but I had to wait for appropriate temperatures so I JUMPED my opportunity when it arose. I love this. I love croptops with high waisted skirts or pants. Both easygoing-casual and retro feminine. I love that combination. I love that mix of disheveled and restrained, it keeps a look young and effortless. Messy hair, simple make up, unfinished edges: the perfect way to keep a retro piece updated.

Speaking about retro: River Island is releasing a vintage inspired capsule collection, a sort of revisitation of their history as a highstreet store! I had been eyeing gorgeous Chelsea Girl (as the collection is called) pieces on the website, but I didn't see any in stores, so I'm superpsyched to hear they're going to be available in stores! Look for the Chelsea Girl red hangers in stores :)

    Wowww I love the croptop/ highwaisted skirt combination! You pull it off so well, that's one I'll probably skip ;) Love the primary colours thang you've got going on with the nailpolish too!
    Those Chelsea Girl pieces are gorgeous! I can totally picture you in all of them, especially that lacy dress! I really hope you find that skirt though, it's pretty much the best thing I've seen... ever. ;)
