Magnolia

dress, tights: H&M - cardigan: Think Twice vintage - brogues: Primark - coat: Pimkie - feather boa: Zara

The most beautiful thing about spring is, without a doubt, the blossoms. I love cherry blossoms, but the queen of all blossoms to me is the magnificent magnolia. Full yet delicate, an explosion of beauty. Most years, magnolia trees only yield a small amount of blossoms. Apparently this year was an amazing one for this particular tree, as I don't recall ever having seen one quite as bountiful as this splendid specimen! I wish I had one of these in my garden, but having one just around the corner is nearly as good.

About the outfit: the combination of black and blue might be a fashion faux pas in the eyes of many (written about way too often at that), but I personally think it can look fab in the right combination. And I think it looks right here! With all the glitter and the pied de poule and the pink and the yellow, it blends in nicely. Not that I could give you a hint on how to pair them properly. Fingerspitzengefühl! Or maybe I do have a hint: just make it look intentional and chic, with rich colors and fabrics.

How do you feel about black and blue? Ever wear them together? Or are just sick of people randomly blabbing on about the same 5 fashion subjects (how a LBD is SO perfect to accessorize for each occasion, what to wear to suit your body type, how pastels are B.I.G. for spring, you know what I'm talking about) over and over and over and over and over and over again?

As a matter of fact, I DO love pastels for spring.

  5. I really like magnolias as well, especially because they're one of the first trees to blossom in spring, and also because, they're so awesome that the trees don't even need their leaves before, lest bring on the flowers straight away, and then let the leaves come once the spectacular blossoms are all there! ;)

Also, shock horror(!) but black and blue is one of my favourite colour combos, and I think you look amazing in it, btw.

And, yeah, I too love pastels for spring... lol

  7. Spring is all about yellow shoes and pink tights, IMO. That is one beautiful Magnolia tree (thanks for the education on that). Hope you get some more pics with it before it goes!

:) I dig the dress by the way!

  13. ik doe elke dag mijn best, jammer genoeg is mijn omgeving niet altijd even inspirerend :( mooie foto's maken me gelukkig! FIGHT THE POWER

Whatever!
    Moooooie foto's!

  18. I consider it to be my mission to tell the world that it's okay to wear brown and black together. I still have friends complain that they can't wear their favorite brown shoes with a black shirt, and it makes me want to scream!

  21. I love Magnolia's! There was one in my grandparents garden but the new owners got rid of it, I mean, who does that? :(
