A while ago, I received Katy Perry's Eylure false lashes in the mail. I hadn't really given much thought to experimenting with uhm, eyewear, but since Megan's flawless Mad Men style has sparked my love for 60s fashion and beauty once again, I found myself intrigued. After all, you can't get that 60s look without MAJOR lash action. Also, Katy Perry basically totally owed me for stealing my look.
The four (re-usable) pairs I got in the mail were Sweetie Pie, Oh Honey, Cool Kitty and Oh My. I put them in this order because I feel like Sweetie Pie is the most subtle pair, and Oh My really makes a statement. To give you guys an idea of the different options, I tried out Oh Honey and Cool Kitty. I followed the instructions when I put them on by applying the glue on the lashes, waiting for about 30 seconds and then putting them on as close to my lashes as possible, pushing them down with the handle of some tweezers.
First up: Oh Honey!
Thoughts: the glue you see here can easily be covered by using some eyeliner after applying the lashes. I like how these lashes pack a punch, yet still look pretty natural because of the lashes not being too dense. I personally feel like this pair is quite sexy and sultry rather than fun and quirky, so more sweet than Katy Perry's regular cupcake pin up style. This also means that while I like the effect this pair gives, I don't feel like I'd get them. When I feel like being sexy, I don't want to run the risk of having my lashes fall off in the midst of... conversation. Yes, that's totally what I was about to say!
Next up: Cool Kitty!
Thoughts: Now THIS is what I'm talking about! Some proper Katy Perry doll eye effect up in hurr. I love how cute yet va va voom these look, they really open up my eyes and for me they offer the perfect middle ground between wearable and weird. I love standing just between wearable and weird. Also, these remind me of Miss Piggy, and I LOVE Miss Piggy. So I'd definitely wear these again.
Once more, adding some eyeliner would make these look even more natural, but I wanted to show you guys the effect of the eyelashes on their own. Now, if you are interested in trying these but worrying about the glue or the application: the glue is not strong enough to pull out your lashes or glue your eyelids together AT ALL, so chillax brah. And the application is a bit fiddly, but not extremely hard. Just follow the instructions, and ease on the blinking right after putting them on, because the sides might come loose if you blink too much straight away.
Now go and glue some fake hair to your upper eyelids! It's the next big thing!
Yeah, girl, yeah!
ReplyDeleteOh echt tof! zo sexy!
ReplyDeleteOooh zalig!
ReplyDeleteThese lashes look really pretty on you! They give you great volume but still look very natural :)
ReplyDeleteWow, they look really great actually! Hm, now I know what brand to get if I'm ever in need of some fake lashes for some reason or another.
ReplyDeleteyour eyes are amazing annebeth
ReplyDeletehottie!
I think you'd look even more beautiful (if that's possible) with the eyeliner applied too.

ReplyDeleteSTUNNING!
ReplyDeleteI know, I said that in my post as well, I just wanted to show the lashes on their own! :)
ReplyDeleteHie-jet!
ReplyDeleteAh this is so unfair! You look FANTASTIC with these on, but even Cool Kitty makes me look like a drag queen so I wouldn't even think about trying that super heavy pair on!
ReplyDeleteDat doen wij zeker :-) Geef maar een seintje he Teri, Greets, Julie (Yapado)
ReplyDeleteI am not entirely comfortable with the idea of putting false eyelashes but I LOVE how miss honey looks on you! :)
ReplyDeleteVery Nice.. I just ordered 3 pair. i can't wait to try them on !
ReplyDeleteSo helpful
ReplyDeleteWhat lip colour are you using? You look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI think it was a blue toned ref from hema, a local drugstore! Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for this great review! (I found it searching for "false eyelashes" on Pinterest, if you're curious.) I also love the Cool Kitty! lashes - they definitely remind me of Miss Piggy, which is awesome, but also Audrey Hepburn.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great compliment, thank you for reading! I also reviewed katy's other false lashes btw, the colourful ones (kaboom etc), in case you're interested!
ReplyDeleteI saw that! The purple is so pretty. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteglad you enjoyed it!

ReplyDeleteI'm tempted by your review and I might have to blame you for your katy perry fake lashes haul!
