dress: COS - shoes: New Look - sunglasses: H&M - bag: Zara
This Saturday, on the day the Titanic hit the iceberg 100 years ago, my boyfriend and I met up with a bunch of my Dutch relatives in Terneuzen. I hadn't been there in years and years even though it's only a short drive from where we live, but I was glad to be back. It's only a small little town just across the Belgian-Dutch border, but you feel the Netherlands everywhere around you: especially the prominence of water is very Dutch. The land is flat but open, you can see for miles... I always feel humble and tiny under the big, open skies above me and staring into the the horizon across the water. This is actually a beach of the Schelde river, although it looks like the sea, but the adorable little lighthouse makes it totes legit!
My dress is a recent buy from the COS sale section (only 35€!). I had had my eye on it for months because of its interesting fit: somewhere between fashion forward and dowdy. Also, that collar! The loveliest shade of eggshell blue, giving some life to the black. I felt like a lady wearing this outfit, I almost look like some super religious throwback to the reformed Protestants I'm actually a descendant of, on my mom's side. I'm not a religious person, but religion can look très chique imo.
Sorry for the picture overload, but I loved them all so much so there!
KISS KISS
Aaaah, that dress! Bij mij stond hij absoluuuut niet, maar GURL, you rockin' it! Leuke foto's!
ReplyDeleteWOW and there is that smile again

ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend was bitching about him freezing his ass off, I guess I'm a sadist :D
ReplyDeleteI love that dress! And I love these pictures... and I'm definitely getting a glimpse of the religious Dutch woman. It's all good so long as it's IRONIC right? :D
ReplyDeleteThese photos are so beautiful! Such a pretty dress, it looks really stylish! Great sale find :) And I love that bag too!
ReplyDeletehaha the last pic xD

ReplyDeleteOh these photos are crazy beautiful! You look lovely dear! I'd never considered accessorizing with a light house! ;-D
ReplyDeletethat dress is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love these pics, my circle of friends would refer to this as a "nun" dress haha, which is like the opposite of a Protestant. Though, I do really love it! Also, kind of a weird question, but where are your tights from because I can see them, but they aren't tacky and tan and weird and I must knoooow!
ReplyDeleteThat place seems so beautiful. It really makes me want to skip everything tomorrow and spend the day on some awesome place.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, is good to see that smile again. :D
Everything about the second picture is just perfect, the stance, the wind, the dress :)
ReplyDeleteI don't mind sharing, I tell EVERYONE about these amazing nude tights! H&M, look for "LONDON", it's the palest nude tight color they have and it's amazing! I've been looking everywhere and they are the only ones that fit the bill. Thank you btw! And reformed protestant and nun isn't that far apart, haha :D
:-D There is a light that never goes out van the smiths is een van m'n lievelings nummers, trouwens.
ReplyDeleteHilarious last picture. I'm glad to see other couples find face-licking a hilarious, evil thing to do.
ReplyDeletePrachtige foto's! Wanneer ik die blauwe lucht zie en vervolgens hier uit het raam kijk word ik wel een beetje depressief, maar bon, dat neem ik er graag bij.
ReplyDeleteOoh these pictures are indeed beautiful! It's a good thing there were some good ones in the bunch where your head is actually visible in the picture :D
ReplyDeleteThat dress and those shoes are the awesomest combo.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. Love the dress, too... it just looks so proper in the nicest way possible. I'm imagining it with mild cateye eyglasses for a costume party! And that kiss is hilarious! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with the setting for these pictures! Your new dress looks awesome on you too! I love that the collar is blue, not white. Very cute.
