I was kindly invited by UPR to enjoy a fun afternoon with some of my fave fellow bloggers, getting acquainted with the newest offerings of the brands represented by the firm. Read on for my favorite moments of the day and some pretty pictures!
Right upon entry, Sabina and me were welcomed by the lovely smiling UPR ladies and introduced to another batch of lovely, colorful Swatch watches. Now, I personally preferred the previous collection because of the double banded action and the smaller clock (I have the tiniest wrists), but LOOK AT THEM COLORS! I used to have a Swatch back when I was younger (yellow clock, blue wristband and all of it transparent) and the brand has always been a fave. Funky, young and affordable. The Pink and Yellow ones <3!
Afterwards, we moved over to Rituals. Rituals is one of those brands that focus on a natural approach to beauty. Their new make up collection is inspired by cities and vintage. Now, inspired by "cities" always sounds very random to me, but bygone eras are my personal fave aesthetic to refer to, so that naturally sparked my interest. This is the look I created with their new palette: a modernized tribute to Liz Taylor in Cleopatra!
Rituals also has some lovely fragrances. After a short exposée on the omnipresence of scents and perfume, we were introduced to some rough notes regularly used in perfume: who knew patchouli actually smells like dirt? We also got to smell some Rituals fragrances, and my favorite is No. 09: Vanilla Drops and Sweet Orange. Apparently, even though I don't really love the scent of vanilla on its own, almost all of my favorite perfumes have vanilla tones in them. I like 'em sweet!
Crazy antics at the Sacha stand! Sacha is one of my faaaaaavorite shoestores. Even though the prices aren't the lowest, their shoes are still affordable and drool-worthy for any girl who wants something funky and out of the ordinary - a lot of my shoes are Sacha. Paulien and me were invited to goof out in our favorite pair of Sacha shoes from the SS12 collection: Paulien went a bit crazier, but I wasn't about to risk breaking my neck in those Gaga-esque Jeffrey Campbells! They did match my outfit perfectly, and were surprisingly easy to walk in. Still, I wouldn't recommend you promenading down a cobblestone alley in them.
You can't tell too well in this picture, but I'm wearing the MAC Vivaglam Nicki Minaj lipstick I got to try out at the MAC stand! I'm forever looking for perfect pink lipstickshades, and I loved this one on the MUA so I asked her if I could try it. Better pictures and swatches available here. Any suggestions on some good bright fuschia pinks that are matte/satin formula and not too expensive, btw?
Who knew bingo was so much fun? OLD PEOPLE KNOW WHERE IT'S AT YO! 4 lucky peepz got to win Kipling X Stylescrapbook camerabags (lesigh, I'm still fawning over their first collection... My camerabag is so... strictly functional) and Kim was NOT AMUSED she didn't win. I was so close too, I only needed one more ticked box!
I'm majorly bummed I didn't get to properly try out the Pronails stand because my stupid boyfriend called to drive me home, but their nail art looked SO fun! I'm definitely checking it out, you all know how much I love a good tacky nail. And seriously, how pretty is this Art Nouveau-esque nailclipper?
This one might just be my fave: DKNY is bringing out a new batch of their apple inspired fragrances, and as a big fan of the previous ones (and owner of the green apple perfumez) I was delighted to find out about these. In Belgium, these will only be available in ICI Paris XL from 16th of April 2012. My favorite is the yellow one: reminds me of candy, but not in that headache inducing way I hate so much. Light, not too sweet but still playful (and: surprise surprise, it has vanilla tones!). I'm totally getting it.
I didn't manage to take a picture of my last favorite: Soxi. Silly name, GREAT tights. Kinda like welovecolor.com but available in normal stores (Veritas!) in a lovely range of bright bright colors for only 4€ a pair! I got them in bright orange, and the quality is great: thin, soft yet noticably sturdier than H&M tights for example.

To conclude, some foodporn. The food was nothing short of amazing: dried tuna cubes with a hint of wasabi, fluffy cupcakes, spicy wraps, marshmallows and chocolate cake-raspberry concoctions. Also: fresh iced tea! Ah, the tastes of summer. And how awesome is that Muppet esque manicure on Elfi?
Thanks for an amazing day to UPR and my fellow blogger friends! <3

Loving some of these pictures very much!
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I noticed about you besides your nice smile, was the fact that your eyeshadows matched your dress! I was like, phew, I've been doing this matchy-matchy thing forever despite the fact that it seems to break some kind of cardinal rule in fashion. Seeing you do that makes me SO relieved! Lover your blog Annebeth!
ReplyDeleteSunny xx
haha clashing, matching: anything with fun colors is a yes in my book! thank you :-D I've been getting way into retro make up so the blue eyeshadow is my latest obsession :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still a little scared of blue. I think it'll be a little tricky to find one that works for my skin tone, but I am determined to be a little braver! (True, anything with fun colors is good in my book too)
ReplyDeletemaybe if you go for more of a turqoise blue shade? Usually I'm all for just trying things and not being afraid to make mistakes: I have hazel eyes, and people always tell me I shouldn't wear blue eyeshadow but I think it looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteZo'n mooie fotos heb je getrokken :). Ik vind je outfit ook zo leuk, de kleur is vrolijk :).

WOW! This looks like SO MUCH FUN! Such a great way to spend the afternoon: cosmetics, shoes, food. What else does a girl need?! :)
ReplyDeleteone thing: kittens. And maybe some John Hamm :D
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'm going to have to seek out those new DKNY perfumes. I love the apple range and own the green one too. They're such fresh scents.
ReplyDeleteHaha googlie-eyed nails. And the food looks nomlicious! I really love bright colours, but for some reason cannot bring myself to wear any watch that isn't black or silver, although those ones are really wicked.
ReplyDelete1. Those scissors are SO cute!
