Turban

I have been wanting to try this headscarf things since FOREVER but I always thinks it looks right wonky on me :( I don't know whether it's my tiny head or my not so mad scarf tying things, but it never ends up looking the way I'd want it to look. HOWEVER, my hair was absolutely gross and greasy yesterday (I mean seriously I could smell my own hair, yuck) and I was too lazy to wash it, so I needed to IMPROVISE. The only time I regret not having short hair anymore is when I need to wash my glorious mane, it just takes sooooo much more time and effort now :-( FEH! Anyway, here's my improv turban.

By the way, don't worry, I won't start EXCLUSIVELY taking pictures inside now. But the weather still sucks so I'm sticking with my rain sheltered guns!

Also, guess I'm REALLY into selective caps today? OH WELL

My boyfriend was brimming with compliments again. When I asked him what he thought about the turban he told me it reminded him of the cleaning lady, and then proceeded to carefully position an empty plastic wrapper on the nearest cat's head, cooing to it about how I had told him it was the latest fashionz.

Isn't he the SWEETEST? /irony :-D

I still think it was a rather cute way to cover up my greasy mop of hair though. But the search for the perfect scarf+tying method continues! If you're wondering how I put this fabulous confection together: the scarf I used is quite long and rectangular. I placed the middle part of it on the top of my head, wrapped it around my head once (crossing it at the back), made a knot on the top of my head again and tucked in the ends at the sides et voilalalala! You like? Any tips to improve it?

scarf: H&M
blouse: Zara
jeggings, shoes: New Look
ring: Alex Monroe

PS: I was featured on the website of one of our national newspapers today with my festival outfit, AWESOME! Check it out here :)

  26. Definitely something I would wear/have worn. ; ) I love that your scarf has quite a bit of volume, gives you an African woman vibe. Which I mean as a complete compliment, I always think those African women look amazing.

My usual turban method is to fold a long scarf in half, place the middle bit at the back of my head/base of my scull, bring the ends to meet, put the two loose ends through the folded bit, reverse, and then tuck them under. That sounds ridiculously complicated for something completely easy...

I love how this turban is the eyecatcher in this denim look! And I LOVE the shoes and ring!!

  30. The scarf on the head look looks great! I too have trouble tying them and styling them on my head. I ended up tying a ginormous bow on top because I could not wrap it around my head again and I just looked like an odd cartoon character. haha Oh well, trial and error, right?
