Hey lovers! Sorry I didn't post last night, I was enjoying a much needed night off from EVERYTHING, eating a perfect take out pizza from our favorite pizzeria (for those in East-Flanders: Lokeren, Quattro Stagioni, AMAZING) and watching a movie while cuddling with the boyfriend. We watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (hadn't seen it yet!) and loved it. Best HP movie yet and I can't wait to see the last one now, but I'm preparing myself for tears because that last book is INTENSE YO. Anyway, here's my outfit from yesterday! After a few gorgeous weeks of perfectly summery weather, we've tumbled down the thermometer and the sun isn't eager to come out and play either, so I'm looking and feeling rather autumnal. The light was sucky too so my pictures are a bit dreary, but I like the mood they exude. But now, LESS TALK MORE ROKK
I'm loving the combination of brown and blue, and the slight librarian feel this little combination seems to have. I can't really put an era on it, but it still feels retro. Any thoughts about what decade this outfit might fit? The dress is vintage anyway, I should really iron it but I'm a lazy ass biatch so I just don't do that sort of thing. I bought it for 7 euros along with the beige one from last post. I altered it by hand as well, it had a higher neckline that I changed into a V-neck by cutting it in a bit and sowing the resulting flaps into place, if that makes any sense to my lovely readers. Worked out fine, another affirmation of my strong opinion that yes, every idea of a DIY should be carried out immediately. If you let your creativity speak and keep a minimum of care in mind, you won't be mucking up your garments THAT much. And your stuff will be much more "you"! SO GO DO IT ALREADY.
Okey that's it for today, I'm off to chill some more on the couch with my boy where I am actually already sitting, being incredibly antisocial by blogging with him sitting next to me. Off for some snuggles! I hope your weekend was as lovely as mine :-)

I think ironing is a waste of valuable time. It should be kept to a minimum. Oh, and the shoes are like totally cool

Ah, I actually love these photos! Not bright or sunny, but indeed moody. Sometimes that's a good thing, no?
ReplyDeleteThis is vaguely 70's to me. I'm probably not correct, but it's just the vibe I get...
Also, I will most likely cry during the last movie. I've been a HP reader for pretty much ten years so reading the last book was like a closure to that time period.

ReplyDeleteyou really really really have to teach me where and how i can find those dresses. perfect, love that extremely delicate fabric and the gorgeous print. the dark red really pops up. the rusty tights give it a very special affect and i love the shoes, like a girl from the 50's. oh you always take me on a journey with your outfits.
ReplyDeletei love what you did with the neckline. It looks pretty so I'm assuming it's an improvement :)
ReplyDeleteI watched this movie too on Saturday evening and I started to cry at the first scene as Hermine put this forget everything spell on her parents and of course as Dobby died..crazy isn't it?!
ReplyDeleteGreat dress. Love the 50s vibe!
I need more nights off of everything too. Can't wait till my exams are over!
ReplyDeleteIt's no wonder you chose this autumny outfit, it's freezing outside!
Adore these over knee socks <3
Looking pretty, I love the socks+shoes combination (and yes, I'm still jealous over the fact that you got them at such a good price, they're so pretty!)

Leuk gecombineerd met die kousen! x
ReplyDeleteI'm so terrible with ironing... I hate it, I don't do it, and end up going out with creased clothes but I just couldnt care less. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the colour combinations here, and sorry to hear about the declining temperatures, but you know Belgium, it will change again, and summer will arrive, and then leave, and then arrive :)
By the way, the post I dedicated you has got such a fantastic reception, from readers, from friends, from my man, everyone is in love with you. I'm really happy everyone liked it!!!! Thanks again, so much, so much, so much xxxx
Gorgeous dress, looks lovely! The weather in Londn has been pretty crappy, so much rain! You hadn't seen harry potter yet??! Gah.. can't wait for the last one either :) xx
ReplyDeleteI love this whole outfit combination , it all goes together so well xx
ReplyDeleteYou look BEAUTIFUL! That dress looks great on you xx
ReplyDeleteI'm such a Harry Potter geek! I'm ridiculously excited for Deathly Hallows Part 2, but also sad that it will be the last HP movie ever. :/
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! I've been looking for a pair of tights in that color. (In my head, I think of it as "fawn brown.")
This feels pretty early 70's to me, the colour and pattern certainly do. Lovin' it.
ReplyDeleteI love the pattern of that dress. You have the most amazing dress collection!
ReplyDeleteAlso ironing sucks. It is my least favorite chore. (and I should probably do some today - ick).
Excellent outfit, loving how well the socks match, its def sock weather! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely cute, but way more autumnal than I want to be feeling right now. Damn European weather is getting me down so far this summer! Glad you had a good night in though; I was doing similar things this weekend and having a bit of an internet break!
ReplyDeleteOne of the prettiest dresses ever and I love that your stockings match it so well!!! how cool and cute!!! You are adorable!!!!!
