BIRTHDAY GIRL

Remember this ICONIC primark S/S2011 dress I was eyeing a month or more ago? Well, the DARLING Harriet got it for me in the UK and sent it over! Just goes to show how amazing the people you meet online can be, everytime I wear this dress I'll be thinking of her and how sweet she was for granting my wish. My language is strong, but I really am in love with this dress. I think it even looks better on me in real life than in the publicity shots! Amazing.  AND I can wear it without a bra because of how perfectly the top fits my boobage. I LOVE summerdresses that can go without sticky sweaty bras! And pockets? Gosh darn this dress is perfection in the form of a citrusy yellow confection! My little blogger bday gift :) Okey I basically bought it myself but STILL! The fact that she bought it for me and sent it to me along with a lovely little card made it feel like a gift. Also, the folding, the detail and the pockets make it look a LOT better than your run of the mill 9£ dress!

So yeah, today was my birthday! My mom, sis and her boyfriend came over and we ate cake, cooked, had springrolls, talked about life, annoying neighbours and Lady Gaga, played pictionary and laughed a lot. My man was absolutely the sweetest thing ever. He fried the rolls, did the dishes, cleaned up after me and managed to find some time to do the laundry! Ha, I sound so boring, but I love it when my man takes care of household chores I don't feel like doing! He even organized my dried herbs shelf!! :-D perfect birthday if you ask me.

As you can see I tried a new hairstyle again, god I love my long hair so much. I just backcombed the hair at the back of my head a tiny bit (not really necessary) and basically twisted all of my hair into some sort of rudimentary love child of an upside down french twist and a pony tail, and pinned it down with bobbypins. I love how fifties prom this hairstyle looks :-) is my explanation even sort of clear? Let me know if you need a better one :-D

Love the bit of hair flowing down my neck at the side, I kept petting it! :-D

Edit: since people still didn't really know what I meant, here's a picture of the rolling/folding technique I used. I do not own this picture, I just googled hair fold.

That's what I did, but upside down so the fold begins on top and ends in a sort of pony tail on the bottom. As for the the pinning: just slide a few in, horizontally, I only used three but if your hair is super long you'll probably need more :-D

PS: I haven't gotten any prezzie's yet except for the secondhand Canon 450D I bought for myself, but I can be patient and I can't wait to try out my new camera! Waiting for the lens to be delivered tomorrow :-)

PPS:  Here's the cake my boyfriend got me! My mum also brought a DELICIOUS apple pie (eating that one right now). PIE HEAVEN
