Yep, another day of wearing my mary janes, another creased dress, and another movie! My boyfriend and I went out to watch X-men: First Class today, and I loved it. Well, I was a bit pissed off about all the female objectification going on, but I don't think there is ANY superhero movie that was made sans sexy chicks with their boobs hanging out at all times, so I'll just have to deal with that shit. It had January Jones in sixties garb! Love!
Wouldn't mind wearing this little 'fit next F/W. Also, covered boobs! Yeay! The film was filled with lots of gogoboots, mini dresses, sixties make up and volume in the hair, so it goes without saying that I was inspired. I was wearing this outfit to the movies and I felt it fit the sixties theme somewhat, I totally subconsciously got dressed inspired by the movie I was going to see, right?? But less awesome superhero amazone and more goth schoolgirl. I wore my tattoo tights again but it was actually surprisingly warm out today, even if the skies were grey and rainy, so I was slightly overdressed. I hate it when the weather is giving us mixed signals: I need CLARITY yo. SUN and WARMTH or GREY and COLD OK??
Sigh, I feel very unfunny today, that time of the month which always coincides with horrible headaches over at la casa Dutchman, so forgive my lameness plz.

I'm going to take a small couch nap now while watching bad television. Best treatment for a yuck mood.
dress: H&M
ring: ASOS
coat: Pimkie
bag: Zara
tights: River Island
shoes: New Look
headband: etsy (little honey pies)
PS: can you see those weird red-ish stripes on my pinky finger in the close up of the crucifix ring? A scar of a grillpan accident. Yep, I am THAT clumsy. My pinky finger looked like grilled tuna for two weeks.
PPS: this dress actually was pretty much wrinkle free when I put it on in the morning, but it didn't survive two hours of sitting in the cinema. Why isn't EVERY fabric crease-proof? :(

ReplyDeleteThis is hands down my favorite outfit of yours. I am a gothic school girl at heart. Truth.
That dress is so simple but so versatile! I love how you styled it. And the orange nails with that ring looks AWESOME
ReplyDeleteI love the classic simplicity of this look - so sophisticated!

ReplyDeleteLove this outfit!!!

This outfit is very cute, I love that dress with the trench coat. And your bag is sooo wonderful! I love those 60s outfits in the movie, I would love some mini dresses, and big hair is my favvvvourite

this is great, I love the simplicity and the subtle oomph the tights and nails add

Love that cross ring. I want one of those real bad!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon!
Nice combo. I like the detail of the ring plus the dress, it's all nun-like then again you look at the tights and: blasphemy! ahaah
ReplyDeleteI can't get over the fact, though, that the dress is too wrinkled for my taste, but that's a different matter...
really partial to this dress, its gorgeous! loving all the detailed shots too! xmen was good, i agree its pretty much a given for a woman in these sorts of movies to have that sexbomb role.
ReplyDeleteblack dress, black shoes, bare legs= one of the hardest things to pull off! but oh did you look at styling dutchman??? she knows how to do it. and did you see the detail, that is what i am talking about!!!!! the tights are insane and they get me excited. the fabric looks pretty hard to wear, love the white details!. girl this look is all about the latent details and you have nailed it again and again and.... (okay i am getting boring....). i am going to shut up now
ReplyDeletedie kousen zijn supermooi, heel subtiel, maar toch very sexy
ReplyDeleteI love how you say you're not feeling funny and then end with the grilled tuna note =D totally made me laugh!
ReplyDeleteDie kousen zijn echt leuk! Je hele outfit ook trouwens :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so great in that black dress. The coat is perfect with it and so are those adorable mary jane heels. I want to see xmen so badly! Maybe I'll see it sometime this week.
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit - in the last picture you look like you might be preparing to unleash your secret superpower on the unsuspecting! I loved x-men: first class too; Emma Frost's skimpy outfits were kind of annoying, but as the guys behind me kept on saying "It's meant to be the 60s baby yeah!". Thanks Austin Powers :P.
ReplyDeleteI love your hairband and your dress :-)
ReplyDeleteUgh, I'm with you on the bad mood and stuff.. oh and I laughed at your jokes, does that mean we are both equally lame or equally awesome?
ReplyDeleteequally lamesome! :D hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, love those shoes! xx
ReplyDeletei love the concept of this outfit and I think you pulled it all together quite nicely. Feel better!
ReplyDeleteOoh awesome tights, I need them! And the bag actually, its like my perfect style... :)
ReplyDeleteAshamed to say I've never watched any of the X-Men films! Real knowledge gap there. Definitely gonna check that shizzle out soon though. Love the outfit. You seem too happy to be a goth school girl. Turn that smile upside down for a frown and you're almost there ;) But then again, overdressing IS very goth. Always wonder how they do it, those Within Temptation fans front row at Pukkelpop, in their heavy Victorian dresses and army boots when it's 40 degrees outside :D Respect!
ReplyDeleteI love that trench and you bag is so cute!

I love your outfit Annebeth! Especially the trench coat - you look very sophisticated :) The tights are really cute too; the design around the top of the thighs reminds me of the tattoos that the Chanel runway models all had on their thighs last year.
ReplyDeleteI've just decided that I am going to be a crinkly wrinkled dress wearer, and not to worry about it. It just means we actually live in our clothes! Now you've got me wanting to see this film.
ReplyDeleteXmen was a good movie! I was in love with January's outfits in it. Then again...I'm just in love with her in general! I definitely felt that Magneto & Xavier should be lovers after that emotional BFF break up.
ReplyDeleteI like this ensemble! The tights are the bomb!
