I'm currently gearing up to go spend some time with my awesome-asss-nieces, and I have a little time before I have to catch a bus so I thought I'd put together a blogpost. I'm showing you my current favourite beauty product today: & Other Stories cheek & lip tint in Swivel Pink. I got the same product in Pucker Coral as a PR gift, and while I was in love with the texture and the look of the product, it just didn't work with my complexion. I've since given it to my sister, who looks AMAZING in it (I should ask her for a pic), but I might secretly steal it back when I've got some summer tan going on. ANYWAY, because I liked the product so much, I wanted to find a colour that suited me. So off I went to the & Other Stories shop during my lunch break. I swatched Swivel Pink, Kick Pleat Red and True Bias Fuschia, but immediately saw that Swivel Pink was the one for me. The formula is very pigmented, so the palest pink still packed a lot of punch while the darker, more saturated colours would only make me look ruddy, or demand much more blending. And my sensitive skin doesn't work well with vigorous blending.
This is what swivel pink looks like on me:
Its formula and colour blend in effortlessly with my own dry skin and cheek tone, and it leaves it with a subtle glow that makes it possible to skip highlighter, which is awesome. I love highlighter and hardly go without it, but this cheek tint basically functions like a subtle highlighter and cream blush in one minimalist package.
Look at that gorgeous pink! Perfect neutral bubblegum pink. And as always, the clear plastic, sturdy packaging of & Other Stories which I like so much. Great for storage.
I swatched the product for you: on the bottom, you see Swivel Pink unblended, and on top you see it blended in. Smooth, flawless pink. The formula has no sparkle, and very little discernible scent.
Finally, a less close up shot where you really see how well the colour works for my skintone. I forgot to freshen up my lipstick (ugh) and the picture was taken right after I got home from a day at the office, so I think I deserve some credit for my make up still looking this nice. The cheek & lip tint is a bit dry to wear on the lips, but definitely creamy enough for cheek application. I feel like it has good staying power, leaving your cheeks with a pretty, softly coloured glow throughout the day.
& Other Stories cheek & lip tints retail at 15€, which I think is totally reasonable for the product since it will last ages, and good cream blushes are still quite hard to come by for whatever reason. If you use liquid foundation, cream blushes are generally the way to go, especially if you have dry-ish skin. It will keep your make up from looking cakey or patchy.
I'm still in time for my bus, but I have to get going now. Hope you enjoyed the review!
