Saturday at the Beach

Sometimes you get those days that are the product of spur of the moment decisions that turn out in the best way possible. On the day after my Halloween party, after cleaning up and driving Sabina home, my boyfriend suggested we'd take advantage of the gorgeous autumn weather to drive up to the beach for a walk (and waffles!). The wind felt like it was chewing my ears off but the skies were clear, as was my head.

We walked into some enormous, awesome art by Arne Quinze that resembled crumpled bags or playing blocks to me: both light and solid, seemingly caught mid-movement or simply discarded after losing its initial attraction. The kind of unassuming, playful modern art that speaks to me. Perfect backdrop. Not that we needed a better backdrop than the sea and the sunset.

Perfect day.

  1. My uncle has an apartment pretty much right across those statues! But I actually liked the view better when it was just sandy beaches and an endless sea...
