My sweet boyfriend indulged me by taking me to the local Monastery's private garden which is basically a forest. It's a few minutes from our house but I had never even been there, insane right? The path was covered with chestnuts and fallen leaves, picture pretty autumn! I don't think I've ever experienced bare leg + sandal type weather this far into autumn, and it is amazing. Better than summer even. First pic is a bit pixelated, but the forest was really dark and I just needed to get some light into the photo.
Apparently, chestnut spikes are frickin sharp! I don't know why but I imagined them to be softer, somehow. Yep, no sense at all.
After one of the path's bends we were suddenly and swiftly approached by this duck. At first I thought it wanted to attack us or something because it kept waddling towards us until it was within pecking reach, which prompted me to jump behind my heroic boyfriend, but the little guy just wanted to check us out. He even let me pet him and followed us around through the forest for the rest of our walk! :-D
Also, I stepped into some nettles. I look like I'm hurting but actually I told my boyfriend how wimpy kids really are. I clearly remember crying over some nettle stings when I was still a child, but when you step into some as an adult it just itches a bit. Feh, kids!

itchy itchy! i think this is one of my favorite dresses! i love the combination of the bright yellow and the patent black leather! what a smashing combination! i think fall is one of the most interesting seasons when it comes to flora and fauna
ReplyDeleteLove the monastery and the fact that you're petting a duck! And nettles were definitely way more traumatic as a kid!
ReplyDeleteWow it is gorgeous there! I love your outfit, the lighting and everything! That little ducky is so cute :)

wow what an amazing place! I especially love the picture with the door and the last one with you and that huge tree- so beautiful! You outfit looks perfect too, walkable shoes & a cute, picnic-looking dress. And you look so pretty in yellow (majorly jealous of a few of you ladies on this!). So cute about the duck, I would love to pet one!
ReplyDeleteHahaha too funny that you actually petted the duck :D
ReplyDeleteI LOVE ALL ANIMALS :D
ReplyDeleteCool place you got there, although I like this weather and sunny Belgium I have to admit I hateeee insects and on the country-side is full of them (obviously, duhh) so when my boyfriend tried to snap some pics of me with nature I end up putting the weirdest/scariest faces cause 'omgg there's a hugee spider next to meee!' haha that's my failed photo session at a forest :(
ReplyDeletelove your sandals, it sucks they don't sell sandals anywhere now around here, I'd really could use some flat sandals with this lovely weather.
greetings

omg that tree. you find the most beautiful places!!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are beautiful! I love forests, and these pictures make me want to go hiking in the mountains nearby. Also, I can't believe that duck let you pet him!! Ducks and birds in general are so cool...I would have been so excited to befriend a duck in the woods!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the yellow on you. And your pink hair kind of makes this a rockabilly punk girl outfit. The zippered sandals help. Love.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a magical adventure, the forest seems to be straight out of a fairy tale! The duck looks friendly, even in the picture. :) It's been warm again here too, wore a vintage cotton dress and walked around with bare legs today.
ReplyDeleteje ziet er prachtig uit! lief met je kleedje x
ReplyDeleteOuch! Nettles!!! Poor feets! Still - cracking photo!
ReplyDeleteLove your bag! All the photos are great!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I really like the one of those stone doorway thing covered in greenery. That chestnut is so weird. I had no idea they had little prickly casings like that. I'm jealous of your warm Fall... hopefully we get our Indian summer here soon. I actually used to have pet ducks. I named my first duck Quackerton, and I imagined him donning a monocle and tie hah.
ReplyDeleteChestnuts are very spikey! We used to have a tree at one of our old houses that dropped those things all over the yard. You had to be really careful where you walked!
ReplyDeleteI love the scenery in these pictures. Such a cool place to go. Your dress is adorable!
