ISSHOES: Day after

A short recap in pictures:

please notice that I have the exact same goofy smile in EVERY picture. This is how I pose when I don't take my own pictures.

angie and I had a sweet little meetup yesterday at the Isshoes vintage shoeparty (she’s even nicer and prettier in real life), and I scored some amazing vintage kneehigh boots, exactly what I had been looking for! I had to leave some shoes behind that I wouldn’t mind owning, but those had certain faults that made their already reduced price still too high for me. Among others a pair of gorgeous little black mary janes with a medium heel that were just too tight (and my feet are NARROW as hell), and a pair of goooorgeous redish brown heeled kneehigh boots that fit my calfs like a dream (and my calfs are SKINNY so that NEVER happens to me), but the insides were all kinds of effed up and they were slightly too small for me, so I had to walk away :( I’ll try and type a better review of the event tonight, including a recap of what actually happened, but for now I’ll just sum up the pros and cons:

pros:
great shoes
good planning
very good glass of free cava for first 100 ladies, and yes, we were among those first (in fact me and my girlfriends WERE the first, yes I’m really into shoes)
the event being crowded only added to the excitement

cons:
almost no mirrors
VERY dark in there, you could barely see the shoes
the songs seemed to go on forever (haha I’m probably the only one who noticed this though)
and I feel like some shoes that had more defaults than others should have been priced lower
all in all: great event! I would definitely go again and be early again :D
PS: sorry for my crappy pics, it was raining and it was practically dark all day.

I’m off to work now! bye!

oh, and: dress: mango, cardi: H&m, tights: old, clogs: new look

  3. It is really hard to find decent vintage shoes, they get damaged so much more easily than clothes. I wonder if you could boots relined the same as you can do with coats?

  6. @ penny: yeah, totally true :( I guess you can wear an insole in them, but the bad ones I tried on were all... dusty inside, like they were disintegrating :D not good.

    thanks so much girls!

  7. I already left a comment for you on Chictopia, but I just have to tell you again, I think this skirt is so pretty. It's funny- I'd been a chic-fan of yours with my old Chictopia account (I've only just opened the one I use now). So I'm glad I found you again (and your blog, too)! And I was especially glad that you'd liked my outfit! :D

Sounds like it was a fun event (despite the repeating music!)

  8. Ah lucky you!
