Oh Happy Day

Do you guys remember me nagging about a gorgeous little festive red cropped cardigan I was madly in love with? I wanted to buy it asap because after weeks of stalking it, it finally got marked down on the New Look site, but my size was out and I didn’t think two sizes up would work? I almost ordered the two sizes too big one because I loved it THAT much, but I am SO glad I didn’t, because yesterday I had a chance to drop by New Look in Antwerp, and lo and behold: there it was, my perfect little cardigan, ONE left in my size (all the others were 4 sizes too big), so I grabbed it and bought it, along with a cream cable knit cropped sweater. I KNOW I will be wearing this mothereffer to death, when I see the print it makes me happy, and it’s way cheesy and kitschy so it actually goes with nothing, which makes it go with everything. Yeah, I live by my own logic. I have actually been looking for shorter cardigans and sweaters to wear with high waisted longer skirts and dresses, since all my oversized sweaters just don’t work as well proportionwise, so I am very satisfied right now.

Also, yesterday when I was chillin’ with some friends during our 10 minute break from film history class, a girl in my year (don’t know her, don’t have mutual friends, never talked to her) comes up to me and was like “hey, didn’t I see you on girlscene a few weeks ago?” and I was like YEAH BABY :D totally awesome that people spotted my girlscene interview and recognised me! That was probably the first time that anyone came up to me who knew me from my blog. Sort of makes me feel like I’m on the right track (baby I was born this way).

This skirt is one of my second hand buys, cost me 2 euro. It was slightly more straight up and down rather than pencil skirt when I bought it, so I took it in at the sides by hand (it doesn’t look perfect, but who cares) and I loooove it now. I wore it with my army boots and a band T tucked in last week, and now I felt like playing up the retro-ness, so I did. Gotta have seam stockings, very sexy. And I wanted to make it a bit more playful or modern or weird or whatever, so I grabbed my third and last Littlehoneypies headband to top it off.

  1. I love this vintage look. I also love how those stockings look, whenever I think about wearing some ooh la la stockings like that I get too embarrassed.
    Shame on me.
