cable knit sweater dress - c/o Oasap - coat: Pull and Bear - over the knee boots: Sacha - necklace: c/o Lobogato - circle scarf: H&M
Hi there! Remember when thigh high/over the knee boots were all the rage? I think it must have been somewhere around 2009-2010. I remember seeing a picture of Kate Moss rocking skin tight skinnies and thigh high boots and me falling 100% in love straight away. I knew I wanted suede, black, fitted and with a medium high heel (because I just can't roll with real high heels :() and affordable. I eventually found these at Sacha for about 60€ which felt like a total steal since they are practically perfect in every way. Look at me wearing them alllll that time ago here, here, here and here! I love seeing how much my style has changed, and yet I'd still wear most of those pieces (just styled differently). Case in point: these boots.
I rediscovered them last week when I saw this beautiful outfit on pinterest, which immediately made me go OOH MUST RECREATE (btw do check out Kenza's blog because it is pretty amazing). Needed: oversized turtle neck sweater/sweater dress + some sexy high boots. I don't own an oversized turtle neck sweater, so I adapted the look by pairing a circle scarf with a sweater dress (marked down right now! Super cheap) in the same colour. I totally thinks it looks awesome together, and it kept my neck and ears nice and toasty. I wore this to work and felt very classy.
BTW like I told you guys, I went to see West Side Story in the Capitole in Ghent with my sis and mom last Friday night, and I don't think I'll ever forget that night. I'd never been to a musical in the theatre before but it was 100% worth it. We were seated just a few metres from the stage, ballin on the third row, and the mix of modern dance, superb singing and an exciting mix of jazz, pop and Puerto Rican rhythms performed by a live band definitely rocked my socks off. Go see the show if you get the chance! And if you want some sneak peeks, I posted some on my instagram (@stylingdutchman, including a few short vids of awesome singing/dancing routines).
Did you do anything exciting this weekend?
