Playful Plaid

Picked this pretty little frock up along with two other crayon bright dresses at T2 (do I ever even shop at other stores?) for 12 euro a pop. More expensive than the stuff I usually buy there, but these were too irresistible to risk missing out on if I'd wait for the monthly sales. Haha look at me nagging about 12 euros, T2 has me so spoiled! I guess I don't have to explain why I fell for this dress, but I'll tell you anyway: the sunny yellow, the picnic plaid, the shirtdress cut, the collar, the fifties feel: everything about this is perfect. It was about two sizes too big when I bought it but I fiddled with the seams a bit and handsewed it to fit me and it worked like a charm. Sometimes I surprise myself! I have diddly squat experience with sewing but somehow things always turn out fine if I think it through before starting. I guess I'm a natural, ha!

Color always calls for more color if you ask me (hence the orange ribbonbelt and the green clogs), and this fifties dress had to be paired with my heart sunnies so there you have my outfit! Simple but perfectly me. Can't wait to show you the other two dresses! One is bright pink with a white print, and the other is cornflower blue with a subtle stripe, and both are adorable.

dress: T2 vintage
clogs: H&M
sunnies: Claire's
ribbon as belt: came with Mango dress
ring: Alex Monroe

PS: I only picked the flowers because my boyfriend was mowing the lawn and I didn't want the lovely flowers to go to waste and they looked like they were ready for their close up (hands up if you get the pop culture reference!) so I took their picture. Lovely way to show off my favorite thing in the whole world, my Alex Monroe ring.

PPS: My boyfriend just started singing "my girl is red hot, your girl ain't diddly squat" and I used that diddly squat in today's blogpost because I love that song, and it isn't a song we sing often AT ALL. I am 100% sure we have a telepathic connection.
