Advertorial: Festival Chic

I was contacted by Joe Browns' PR people to check out their selection and let them know how I felt about it, and GOSH the entire collection just SMELLS like bohemian rock festivals during summer: those long weekends where you get beer spilled all over you, wear flowers in your unwashed hair, stay up all night enjoying the warm night air with your friends, dance and sing along to your favorite songs and create memories to last you a lifetime. Of course, dresses are your way to go. Add some comfy, fun footwear (think converse) and some loose knits to keep you warm at night and you're good to go!

CAN I HAVE ALL OF THIS AND A SUMMER'S DAY PLZ

I also love that the store offers almost exclusively printed stuff. I'm telling ya, a print is always better than a solid!

And just to top it all off with a little touch of moi, here are some really dorky shots of me and two of my besties at one of my first festivals 7 YEARS AGO!

Thank god my hair and make up have improved since then. BUT MY KEITH MOON SHIRT WAS ALREADY ACE. This was the year when some hot Dave Navarro (but betterlooking) lookalike protected me in the Rammstein moshpit. Festival love! If you're reading this, cool guy, excuse me for disappearing right after the concert, I already had a boyfriend. If I hadn't I totally would have made out with you. PROMISE.

  8. I have to admit, I do not get the allure of the rock festival. I've been to a couple hippie electronic music festivals, but those are in forests and by gorgeous lushly-lined rivers... The idea of grungy dudes and people spilling beer on my pretty clothes is just... naw XD I'll stick to my dreadlocked fairy lookalikes and barefoot maidens in prairie skirts haha. Those floral pants are pretty damned awesome though, I must say.

  9. it just feels like... reckless abandon and freedom and unity and summerfun! :D I bet rock festivals aren't that different from the ones you like, in atmosphere at least. When you come together to enjoy the music you love, it just feels so beautiful! :D
