A sunny moment on an otherwise dreary day was my cue to run out and shoot some outfit pics. I keep trying to work this socks in shoes trend but I never really LOVE it on me, it always ends up frumpifying me for some reason. However, this attempt was almost right. If the socks were slightly shorter, it would totally be a succes, but these are actually knee highs and I folded them and scrunched them until they almost looked like legwarmers which made it awkward again. However, not an entire fail if I may say so myself.
Yeay, another thing to add to my to buy list: good socks! Gah I'm hopeless.
Any good sock-wearing tips? I can manage them with boots, but with any ankle-baring shoe I feel so weird wearing socks! Must. Master. Sockwearing.
blouse: Pimkie
socks: H&M
shoes: New Look
bag: Zara
skirt: T2 vintage
Try slightly thinner but still long enough to scrunch!! :D Fab skirt!!
ReplyDeleteI still come visit everyday! ;) :D :D x
Leuke outfit, ik wil ook al een tijde de sock look uitproberen, maar de combinatie brogues en sokken ziet er zo raar uit bij mij! Jammer, want ik vind het echt cool :) Maar bij jou ziet het er toch goed uit?
ReplyDelete@ Kim: these are thin but I had to fold them double to get them short enough! so shorter is key :D Glad you still drop by babe!
ReplyDeleteI still think the socks look good on you - fab preppy look! And I fall in love everytime you whip that blouse out! I'm not really sure on tips - I literally cannot go without socks! I just wear ankle socks - sometiemes my dads ones, so they are just right! Maybe steal your guy's? ;) xx
ReplyDeleteI need to master sock wearing too...haha...I can never seem to do it right :/
ReplyDeleteBut I think you look amazing and the socks look perfect to me :D

I found a rainbow pack of socks from H&M to try this trend out and I just can't seem to do it. My cankles just won't let me!! You have perfect legs for this trend, so find some thin or sheer socks and give it a go:)
ReplyDeleteSuch amazing pattern mixing here. If there are any patterns that belong together it is plaid and boats!! Love it, and the knee highs work perfectly as socks, looks so cute

Haha :D Ik zou bij deze schoentjes eerder wat lagere sokjes aandoen eig.. je ziet het snel als ze wat frumpy zijn. Verder is het gwn moeilijk om leuke sokken te vinden!
ReplyDeletei am in love w those shoes!

Steffys Pros and Cons
That sock + shoe combo definitely has that schoolgirl look to it. But yes, I think thinner socks would do much better and in a shorter length.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, this reminds me of my elementary school days where I'd roll my lace socks over...with TENNIS SHOES. How ugly is that? haha Oh fashion when I was a child...
Beautiful combination of prints! I have been looking for so long for cute little socks like this, but alas, only like ugly tennis socks around. Love this!

I need to buy socks for fall too. I don't mind the socks and shoes look on me, but feel my frilly white socks make me look too Lolita. ; D
ReplyDeleteI think these socks look really good in the long ways... the close ups are a bit funny, yes. Maybe a more oatmealy colour would stand out less?
And again I love your socks! And shoes and outfit of course!

Aww IÄm in love with the sailboats blouse, how lovely!! Fab skirt and bag as well! Actually I love the whole outfit! I think the socks in the shoes don't look too bad, you're right, if they were a little shorter it would be perfect. But I can totally relate, I can never pull off socks in shoes either.
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable!
ReplyDeleteLoving the tiny boats on your blouse!

Who'd have ever thought wearing socks could be so complicated? I remember, just a few years ago, all my socks were black socks, and that was that. But now with wearing skirts all the time... it gets complicated, hah. I need to get some nice socks too, but I have no idea how to buy ones that aren't meant to hide in a pants leg and keep me warm XD
ReplyDeletei really love that skirt so much...i want one similiar for autumn. i'm hopeless with socks so i don't think im the right person to give you tips! i always plan to wear them, then right as im about to leave the house i whip them off lol..i always think theres something slightly 'off' with them...its usually the colour. however i think yours are really cute and i love the pale oatmeal colour as opposed to white that i try to wear lol. x
ReplyDeleteyou have a very nice blog!!im your new follower from prague:)

I thinks the socks are great, maybe trying them with a shorter skirt/dress. It doesn't need to be much shorter, I just think there needs to be a bigger gap between the bottom of your skirt and the top of your socks.
ReplyDeleteLove the top by the way
