Genki Girl

I've been spending way too much time on tvtropes.org instead of studying. I've wasted my afternoon telling my friends which tvtrope they are. My friend Greet for example is a classic cloud cuckoolander, another friend is a typical fiery redhead, and a third is a real deadpan snarker. I think I'm somewhere between a genki girl, a tsundere and a plucky girl. Boy oh boy, how I love tvtropes. Totally interesting look on popular media and their portrayal of "life" or something like it, and very interesting from a feminist point of view too.

ANYWAY, I wanted to wear my tartan tights, and I ended up with this outfit. I love it better in real life than on photo, the lighting was just too bad I guess. You'll just have to take my word on the nice-ness of my outfit.
I went by River Island to check out the things I spotted on their website (especially the leopard dress with the bow, the velvet dress, the denim dungaree dress and the toggle coat) and I found the leopard bow frock and tried it on, but it wasn't nearly as perfect in real life as on the website. Don't you hate it when that happens? You see something on a mannequin or a model and you go "OOH that's PERFECT" and you already envision yourself wearing that garment, but then you try it on and it looks all kinds of wrong and instead of thinking "ok, this garment is just crappy for me" your thought immediately wander off to "my body isn't right for this garment" and you damn your short stature/fat legs/lack of waist/whatever. I'm sure we've all been there. I'm a very confident girl myself (in the looks department at least), but even I am not immune to the perils of the dressingroom. Of course, this is completely ridiculous so I slapped some sense into myself and decided this would just make choosing what pieces to get easier. My mind is still set on the denim dungaree dress, but they didn't have it in my store so I can't get that one either. One of my sweet readers (QueenVII) suggested I tried finding a denim dungaree dress in a vintage store but I've had no luck in the matter yet, so I started prowling ebay and I'm stalking a dress there right now. I so so so hope I get it because I totally know how I want to wear it and I'll wear it all the time, all year long. I've been obsessed with denim dungarees ever since I saw Vicky wear the hell out of them. THANKS A LOT VICK.
