This outfit basically makes no sense at all. Compared to yesterday’s outfit, this one is absolutely insane. I mean, the colors don’t go together, the styles don’t go together and I really haphazardly threw things on just because I wanted to wear something “interesting” and colorful and warm. But I sort of like it? I don’t love it but I like it. Like mustard on my hotdog, or boys in baggy shorts. I don’t have a lot to tell you guys about this look though. I’ll tell you about food then. I just made a huge tray of lasagne from scratch again and I’m quite proud of myself for having the discipline to cook something substantial even if I got home late after class. The class I’m talking about was philosophy of science. I love that course, it’s about what can be considered “real” knowledge and how we can assess that knowledge. The professor is the embodiment of the scatterbrained scientist. On top of that he’s german and has this adorable accent and makes really silly jokes all the time, like when we asked him about a certain text in the course reader he said “I don’t really remember what texts I put in there so don’t worry about that one, I won’t mention it in the exam”. OK not really a joke but you would have to hear and see him deliver that line. Or like when he told us about a chapter in his book he used to teach last year, but he thought it sucked and he was too lazy (his own words) to improve it so he just removed it from the book. He’s really adorable. He looks a bit like Einstein.
Anyway, I’ll probably be spending the rest of my night and tomorrow stressing about what to wear to the River Island event tomorrow. Any tips? It’s sort of a professional event with an introduction of the new S/S collection, but also with drinks and some food and a dj so it should be somewhere in between casual/professional and party appropriate. I don’t really want to wear heels because I have some walking to do, and the outfit has to be warm because it’s cold over here and like I said I have some walking to do. I hope they have some place to put my coat. I hate having to walk around with my coat. Or should I just keep it on? I’m totally ignorant when it comes to these things I guess.

great yellow tights !!! lovely outfit ! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so in love with your yellow tights, words cannot explain. I'm loving your style more and more with every post. and hey let's go wild and mix and match I(or not match) who care, it looks bl**dy great.
ReplyDeleteI've been lusting over the most divine coat at River Island on my latest post.
I think your outfit does go together perfectly, the only thing that doesn't go is the yellow tights. Personally I would of worn beige or black or grey or something but the yellow makes it really unique xx
ReplyDeleteI LOVE yellow tights!!! Would love to have ones!!!

I think it looks very cohesive. It's totally you and I think that's why it works. That sweater is absolutely amazing too! Love it:)
ReplyDeleteHehe, I love the yellow tights. I would prob ditch the snood, not because I don't like it but because I really like the yellow and blue together :) x
ReplyDeleteIk vind het net een SUPER outfit! Basic prints & contrasterende kleuren. Ben ook al drie dagen aan het piekeren over een leuke outfit :-)
ReplyDeleteI kind of love this because it's all so crazy that it works! The tights are fabulous. I would definitely opt for flats for your event (maybe with a dress and some cute tights?)...and I'd just whatever coat is warm/works with the outfit and deal with where to put it or leaving it on as you go - it's probably not even going to be an issue...

I still love this look (as mentioned on Chictopia)! I really think something involving sparkles, full skirt, and tough accessories is in order for this event :) Good luck with figuring out what to wear and definitely post pics!

Those houndstooth tights are awesome/insane. I think that describes this look perfectly, actually. Wearing a mishmash of styles with the goal in mind to do just that seems to lend itself to lovely, unique, and unexpected combinations.
ReplyDeleteYour prof sounds awesome. It always cracks me up when teachers conform perfectly to cliches. So good. And lasagne, yum! one of my favorites! It's easy to make but still makes you feel accomplished. That's always something.

you are ALWAYS incredibly cute in your poses and photos! the wonderful mix of patterns and colors is just beautiful in this outfit. :) especially the socks over the tights.

Don't fret too much about what to wear to the event, as soon as you walk through the doors your attention is going to be focused on the clothes on the rails and you will forget what you're wearing :)
ReplyDeleteLove the clash of colours, what the heck, you may have broken some "style rules" in some people's eyes, but it looks great on you, keeps you warm and brings colour into these shitty wet days we are getting in Belgium :)
wow! another juicy winter-killing combo! totally adore that!
ReplyDeleteI love the cardigan!
