I am absolutely completely in love with this look, I wish I could dress like this everyday and not get bored. If I didn’t have a blog and wouldn’t feel compelled to change it up every once in a while, I probably would wear an outfit like this one every day. Cute, retro, girly, but with a bit of street cred added by the masculine shoes and The Beatles t-shirt. This just feels so totally me. When you’re a fickle fashion fan like me, you can sometimes feel like you’re forever searching for that ONE look. I feel like I’ve found it for now in the hair and make up department (eyeliner + subtly colored lips and messy Alexa style medium length hair), but clotheswise I can’t seem to settle as easy. Right now my inspiration is definitely retro, but I can’t seem to settle on a decade. All I know is that the eighties don’t work for me, haha. This is sort of my attempt to merge my favorite styles into something that feels quite current, like something Alexa Chung would wear: longer hemline (fifties), brogues + a bow headband (sixties) and a band T (nineties). The bag seems sort of random when I look back at this look, this outfit would’ve looked better with a dark brown or black bag, but I would be crazy if I’d go and retake this just because the bag isn’t perfect. I do love this Alexa bag knockoff though, it’s part of the new S/S 2011 H&M collection. I just couldn’t resist, and at 19.95, why try?
Anyway, I’m in love with this look.
About my life: I was supposed to be going to a goodbye party for some friends that are leaving to study abroad next semester, but I missed out because of the crazy snowfall here. I’m all kinds of frustrated :( at least I was looking good. Lesigh.

I also have a question for my regular readers: do you guys enjoy reading my little outfit/day descriptions or would you like me to start doing posts about topics? Like an inspiration post, or a christmas wishlist, or weekly links to new favorite blogs or anything like that? Do you find my blog boring or lacking a certain something? Tips? Ideas?
PS: Don’t forget to check out my olsenboye contest entry and my winter wonderland contest entry- and fave them if you love them!
That is a great look - very Alexa Chung indeed and the bag is fabulous!

You look awesome in this get-up, like a rock n roll nerd! That's the best kind of rock and the best kind of nerd, by the way.
ReplyDeleteAs for blogging, I struggle with these questions as well, but for now it's mostly just outfit posts til my readership and photoshop skills increase!

I like the bag with it. I really do think this look suits you a lot, but I love how much you mix up your looks. I love your outfit posts a lot, its your blog you do what you want. You're an interesting writer and I always like your posts on Chictopia so maybe a trend based post now and then or something would be cool. But im like you and never know if I should post more, and when I do I never keep what I do regular haha. Anyway long ramble, love the outfit ;)

Love this outfit! I think The Beatles t-shirt completes it x
ReplyDeleteLovely look...I would wear it the same as you!
ReplyDeleteI see you think about a new blog concept? I like the mixture: Outfit posts mixed with personal things and thoughts. I think a blog is a personal dairy..or a mind in pictures and text.
I choose to close my old blog to start a new one which is so much more me. There will be more topics than fashion..because I love to write about so many things in life. Hope you visit it too. Would love to hear your oppinion..it's in German but I installed a translation function.

Supergave outfit! Ben helemaal verliefd op je schoenen!:P
ReplyDeleteYour blog is great the way it is:) I look forward to your daily looks everyday and your posts about your real life in Belgium is pretty awesome too.
ReplyDeleteI think you should blog what you want, after all it's your blog and you have to enjoy what you're doing.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love this look, I love the 50's style skirts, though I don't think they suit me, I'm too short. It certainly suits you.
Love The Beatles t-shirt too, I'm a big fan.
I already like what you do A LOT. I think your unique voice and style, outfit photos plus your usual funny ramblings on your life, going out or what inspires you...all of that is already a lot of fun to read. You already do a good job at what you do, so I wouldn't change much. But that's just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI' still stuck in Brussels as the airport was total chaos and told us to rebook for Thursday, and our original flight today left without much problems...ah the joys of travel...
