I've been slowly but surely expanding my dress collection again. I've always been a fan of dresses and skirts, but it took me a while to find my stride again after doing away with the cutesy style I used to favour during my vintage loving days. Collars, girly prints, short hemlines, fit and flare silhouette, that's the type of dress I used to go for (example here), and it just doesn't feel "me" anymore. After wearing these (one, two) outfits, though, something clicked for me.
For someone who isn't as obsessed with detail as I am, the difference between my old dresses and this new style I'm feeling is probably negligible, but the vibe has clearly changed for me. Less prim, proper and girly, more relaxed, feminine bohemian. This Mango dress I bought a while ago is a good illustration of that point. Of course, a lot of it is styling rather than the dress itself, but for me the cut of the dress also inspires how I pair it with other items in my closet. I've been wearing this particular floral dress a lot lately, and I love that its cut and print are sort of timelessly feminine.
Hope you like the outfit!
