From the Farm to the City

DUDES I have a very cool post coming up, in fact, you are reading it right. now. But don't stop here! The awesomeness still lies ahead!

!

My darling Harriet jokingly told me I should go all the way with my farm-fashion obsession by wearing overalls and wellies. WELL, I got this AWESOME pair of dungarees in that typical farmer overall blue color by winning the Betaboutique giveaway over at The World Looks Red, and I just had to go ahead and let my inner farmgirl get her moment in the limelight. A red gingham blouse with rolled up sleeves for WORKIN', my trusty scandinavian torpatoffeln slash clogs and my hair in a ponytail: practical farmfashion at its best!
Add a bit of winged eyeliner and a slick of red lippie and you have me being all Rosie the Riveter in an outfit that screams for a tractor or something. RIGHT?

Disclaimer: I do a lot of kissyfaces in this post. Sorry!

 shirt: T2 vintage
dungarees: Betaboutique

BUT I can imagine this being quite a weird, far out look for normal people who, unlike me, aren't crazy about farmfashion. So I styled these dungarees two ways! Once for the farm, once for the city. The second way is more subtle, understated and wearable, but if I'm honest, the first has my heart. Which do you prefer?

t-shirt, coat: H&M

dungarees: Betaboutique
espadrilles: New Look
sunnies: Claire's

  2. Ah, super cute! I really love the prairie-girl farm look tbh. If it weren't for the fact that overalls and my large chest don't mix... I personally prefer the 1st way you styled it :) Not to mention, the 2nd way covers The Beatles!

  5. The first, no doubt about that! And I think you can still get out of the house like that, it's just such a cute outfit, who cares who's staring?! :)

  7. This is all so difficult...I think I want the farm look more! And the peekaboo Beatles tee definitely wins my heart. :) There is just something so playfully reminiscent about a pair of overalls, and I'll feel just like a kid again.

  10. I love both of these looks a lot. The first one is so cute chic farmgirl. I can never say no to gingham so it's my favourite of the two! I love that you took the piece and styled it two ways though, I never thought they could be very versatile!

  11. Both looks are super adorable!! You could've gone another route and did The Farmer's Daughter...but that might have attracted more creepos to your blog...hahaha.. I'm really digging the bright blue of those overalls. You did good!

  13. This may be one of my very favorite posts of yours! I keep seeing lovely blogger ladies rocking overalls, and I am longing for a pair of my own. Ah, the hunt is on! And I think I agree that the first outfit takes the cake here; it's just irresistibly full of personality. :)

  15. Somehow the kissyface just works with those dungarees, you know? I love this look! I think you might be the only one who can pull off the overalls look, though. Which is fine by me, because you do it so well!

  16. I keep seeing loads of good overall looks... on Islabell, Veronika, etc. I might love your farm look the best though...nothing steals my heart quite like gingham!

  17. Despite being from the 'country' (ie the American rural South) I'm actually more of a fan of the second outfit, just because it's less kitschy and is overall more wearable. Your dungarees are a sexier version of the overalls I used to rock back in jr high, hehe. You would break many country boys' hearts!

I'm a fan of both pairs of shoes you picked out and I had no idea H & M was selling Beatles t-shirts.

  21. farm look all the way. i have a pair of olive green overalls and i've worn them proudly with schoolbus yellow knee-high hunter boots on several occasions - in the city. no shame in my game.

  22. I think that kind of 50s looking "farm" style thing looks super on-trend and adorable, not at all too Farmer Annebeth or whatever :P And I think the half-down bib is really chic for the city look. I miss reading your blog! Ack!
