Pink loafers. Some of the cutest shoes you'll ever see, but also not the easiest to style. I can't wear loafers without socks, it's a one way ticket to blisterville for me. I know you regularly see bloggers or even regular people wearig brogues or loafers sans socks, but even though it looks best, I refuse to put style over comfort anymore. I've done that, got the t-shirt and limped back home with sore feet back in my early 20s. I pride myself in featuring realistic outfits that actually work for my daily activities beyond the planned outfit shoot. However, most types of socks paired with these shoes either make me look like I'm a granny, or like I'm Michael Jackson. And I mean no disrespect, but neither of those are looks I'm going for.
In the end, I put together this look and I'm really happy with the result. I love how the pink in the loafers brings out the pink in the paisley pattern of the dress, and the all-over eggplant feels super chic - the look is sort of halfway between 60s it-girl and royal toddler. I'm just one set of lace cuffs away from rocking the Little Lord Fauntleroy look, but I'm digging it. I'm still figuring out more ways to wear these loafers, and I hope I inspire you in the process! Say no to the hegemony of socklessness
