Fake Ink

A few days ago I was contacted by the people behind Faketattoos, inquiring whether I would be interested to try out their product. BOY WAS I! I had read about them just a few weeks earlier on some other blogs and I was contemplating ordering a fake tat. I even had some of my faves opened in tabs of my browser. Anyway, obviously I said yes and couldn't wait to receive my sample!

I got my fake ink in only a few days, this is the one I received. The cool thing is that most of the sheets you can order contain multiple tats, so you can just cut out the design you like most and customize the end result. I really love the placement of miss Calivintage's tattoos, so that was my inspiration when I put the dragon fly on the back of my upper arm.

I wasn't sure about the design on the sheet, but on my arm? L.O.V.E. SUCH a cute motif, and the placement along with the design really clicked in my mind. It's sort of light, cheeky and quirky, but not too sweet or too sexy. Every time I catch a glimpse of my fake ink in the mirror I do a tiny little dance in my mind. This has definitely lowered the threshold for me to eventually get a real tat!

About the practical side: these go on just like those fake tattoos you got in your pack of bubble gum as a kid. Press on, dampen, peel off et voila! The design transferred to my skin like pizza to my mouth: no complications at all. Today is day three of me faking to be a bad-ass, and the tattoo still looks perf. I'm definitely trying this out again in the future! Maybe I'll even get a fake half sleeve, if I'm feeling funky.

Some of my faves: birds 1, bird 2, triangles, anchor, owl

THE OWLS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM

This is a VERY healthy substitute for other drastic changes I might dive into head first now that my life has been turned upside down, lemme tell ya.

  8. I love fake tats. And real tats. But yes, you should probably stick to fake ones right now.

  16. I have a spider tattooed on my upper left arm now, but funnily enough I had had a spider henna'd there a few years prior as a kind of fun experiment. I never figured I'd actually get a spider there but hey! I used to love that fake tattoos as a kid, I would cover myself in them haha... The most badass ones too, the snakes and big knives and stuff!
