Hey babes! I'm back with a post that is part outfit, part travel. I brought this gorgeous dress with me to California because it never hurts to have a statement piece in your luggage if you're feeling fancy, and because these types of 70s maxi dresses are so easy to dress up or down. With a pair of sleek sandals and this rosey/nutmeg Kate Spade purse I bought myself as a 30th birthday present (yeay!), the look is quite chic but still relaxed. Definitely my style.
When I put on this dress and saw it with my newly blonde-ish hair, the 70s vibes hit me hard. As it turns out, the neighborhood we were staying at in Oceanside had a pretty strong 70s aesthetic as well, and when we shot these pics it all came together in a way that seemed to reference the eerie/dreamy suburbia surroundings of The Virgin Suicides. This could have been one of the Lisbon sisters' prom dresses. So yeah, I had some fun looking languid and ephemeral. I wish I always had such cool background for my outfit pictures! You Californians don't know how lucky you are ;-)
