I am in love with this outfit. Everything from the red eye makeup + brown lips (Limecrime Velvetine in Cindy!), to the curls, to the shaggy faux fur and that perfect 90s combo of floral mini dress + Dr. Martens boots just works so well in a classic way. I feel like this outfit channels all of those incredibly stylish girls I used to look up to as a kid in the mid to late 90s - I guess you never really grow out of the taste you develop during your formative years?
People often complain about how Dr. Martens are impossible to break in, but I've never had issues with them. Which is strange, because as you might know at this point: I have problem feet. Blister prone, flat, plantar fasciitis all over the place. But the only issue Dr. Martens give me is that they are on the heavy side, which gives my leg muscles a bit of a work out.
This is the third pair of Docs I've owned in my life. I used to have a pair of 12 eye docs in my teens (I was totes punk-rock) that my mom threw out, and then I bought this pair of bright red patent leather ones that were very cute but also made me feel a bit like Ronald McDonald if I didn't get the styling juuust right? I don't know, I just have a weird thing about red shoes. They bother me for some reason. You can still spot them in a bunch of outfits from my early blogging days, but I sold them to someone who would probably give them more love than me. These babies, though, the classic matte black 8 eye pair, these will go with everything forever and my mom will never throw them out. EVER.
Thanks for reuniting me with my old love, Sacha!
