I realize that yesterday's post was probably a tiny bit of a downer, but I'm a firm believer of the fact that life wouldn't be quite as beautiful without honestly looking it in the eyes and embracing it, warts and all.
I like honesty on blogs. I think that my all time favorite blogs are the ones where the personalities behind it don't try to make it appear as if their lives are just sunshine, lollipops and rainbows all the time. Makes their thoughts more relevant in a way, you know? Less like superficial bullshit typed out by some translucent shadow of a person, and more like the random ramblings of a person you might actually care about. Not the sort of two dimensional character that would get frowned upon if it had been written into a movie or a TV-show. "Woman who shops and wears clothes and talks about stuff" only becomes interesting when that woman is a real person.
Of course, I'm not saying every blogger HAS to hang their dirty laundry out to dry for the entire world to see, or blog about every little detail of their lives, or dish out quip after quip like some wannabe Leandra Medine in order to surpass the masses. But something tiny like a personal anecdote, an honest opinion, a truly individually curated aesthetic that permeates a blog post... Those things are necessities.
At least that's how I see things, do share your thoughts on this!
ANYWAY, gosh I really do ramble on don't I? I meant to just share some pretty pictures of my NYE with you guys, to compensate for the slight downer vibe of yesterday's post. The boy and me got some sushi, took a small walk in the city to enjoy the beautiful lighting at the Christmas market, and took our asses home to indulge in our fishy festivities and a bit too much wine. Simple, low key but still fancy enough to feel like a special occasion: perfect.
I love it when he gives me that French look that just screams "hoh hoh hoh voulez vous mangez ceux escargots-ci? Ah oui bien sûr mademoiselle!"
You practically see him readjusting his beret! Right?

I should really devise some kind of signature for my posts, shouldn't I? Concluding a post is always so awkward.
