Hi there! Let's talk lipstick for today's post ;-) For spring 2017, Yves Rocher is overhauling their entire lipstick collection: instead of differently packaged and named lipsticks (cherry oil vs grand rouge vs moisturizing cream), all of their lipsticks will be rebranded into the Rouge Vertige line, differentiated by finish: satin, shine and pearly. Sleek, and it's much easier to find the shade and finish you're looking for if you don't have to take the different collections into account. I received three shades in the three different finishes to give you guys an idea. Let's take a look.
From left to right: 42 Satin, 09 Brilliant Shine, and 75 Pearly. I do wonder why the lipstick bullets aren't all embossed with the Yves Rocher logo, it looks so fancy! Apart from that, the look of these three lipsticks is identical.
Let's start with 09: the nude-pink in the middle.
09 Brilliant Shine is similar to Yves Rocher's traditional cherry oil lipsticks: a deep moisturizing, sheer lipbalm with a bit of pigment. The Yves Rocher cherry oil lipsticks are basically my go-to lipbalms because they feel so nice on the lips - I always have a tube in my purse (and probably another in my coat pocket). While the cherry oil lipsticks vary in pigmentation, 09 is obviously quite sheer. Super easy to pop on your lips without having to be neat about it. I generally go for a slightly deeper colour because this pink is lighter than my own lip colour, but it still looks quite nice.
Next up: 42 Shine.
42 Satin is probably less pigmented than I had expected: still on the sheer side, rather than the deep burgundy-berry you'd expect from the lipstick bullet. What you get is a super wearable raspberry colour that feels soft and moisturizing on the lips and leaves a bit of a stain when it wears off.
Finally, 75 Pearly.
Finally, my unexpected fav out of the bunch! 75 Pearly is absolutely gorgeous to me. I generally don't reach for these types of frosty finish lipsticks, especially in pink - it can look so very dated and 80s, and that's just a look I feel I can't rock. However, when I popped this one on I fell in love instantly! I love the warm, medium tone pink with the cool metallic pearly finish, it looks fresh and youthful and fun. Also, the colour is super flattering on me, and the pigmentation is aces: opaque in one swipe. Love it!
All of these will retail at €15.90 - more expensive than their traditional Cherry Oil lipsticks, but cheaper than their Grand Rouges (although Yves Rocher almost always has discounts on their collection ;-)). The new lipsticks will be available from March 2017.
