I absolutely love all kinds of boots during the colder months, and over knee (or thigh high) boots have a special place in my heart for representing empowerment, maturity, freedom. I never would have been allowed to buy boots like these when my parents still bought my clothes - not that I would have dared to wear them as an insecure teenager anyway. Being a confident and self-sufficient adult now, I can buy and wear what looks good to me. That's what these boots make me think of.
It's always a challenge to keep thigh high boots from looking too sexy (unless you're going for that look) or too cliché, but I think I managed here. Pairing it with florals rather than plaid, denim or leather gives the boots a girly softness, and the hat pulls it all together with an extra dose of flair. We made good use of the gorgeous evening light at this little location near our home for as long as it lasts, since winter is sure to bring long stretches of darkness and overcast skies.
Are you into thigh highs? Would you wear them?
