Destroyed Sweater and Sneakers

sweater, jacket, pink T: H&M - sneakers: New Look - watch: Swatch - skinnies: Lee

Meet my new favorite shoes. Some mega cheap sneakers from New Look that are the perfect cheap hybrid between Converse and Vans. And did I mention they are cheap? They are so cheap! Not that that is the most important thing in the world, but Converse (as much as I love them) die on me after like a few months, and I find that ridic for a shoe that usually sets you back about 60€.

The sweater is an oldie. It used to look like this, but then I cut off the bottom and shredded it a bit and this is the end result (for now, pretty sure I'll shred on!). Kinda cool. Funny thing, after about three years I'm right back where I started, fashionwise. First I buy that skull cut out T that I've been wanting ever since I saw it on my ex-blogcrush, Camille, back in 2009 and now I'm shredding sweaters like that hugely popular shredded T that was all the rage back then. AM I FINALLY OLD ENOUGH TO NOTICE THE (re)CYCLE OF FASHION? To be continued.

  1. I'm surprised you still actually have a sweater, after cutting it off. Could've lost the whole thing as easily :p I like all things shredded, though!

  2. oh but I've done that before, if you just roughly hand sew the bottom in place it will hold! :D

  4. Leuke relaxte outfit! Heb dezelfde zonnebril trouwens :D

  6. I am old enough to have seen some things come back I swore never would. Not a fun experience, but bring it on '90's, bring it on.

  8. Love what you did w/ that sweater, super cute and so wearable! fun to see what it was like originally. it's a good thing though if you're back to liking things in the past, instead of looking back and wanting to vomit... which happens to me when I see pics of my elementary school outfits.

  10. Really depends on the knit, though! The looser it is, the bigger the chance it'll come loose :p

  12. it won't all fall to pieces though, your sweater will just look super deconstructed and I like that! :D

  13. "AM I FINALLY OLD ENOUGH TO NOTICE THE (re)CYCLE OF FASHION?" Yep. Not telling you are old, lol, but the fashion recycles itself everytime. I see this 90s re-fashion is really huge now. I could pull off my entire 90s wardrobe at this time and no one would notice they are old pieces. Very old clothes of mine, things I haven't worn for more than a decade that I'm starting to pull off again!
Are these shoes Superga? I had those sneakers as well, back then. Everyone was wearing it all the time. I still have it, actually, and they are in great condition. If I bought it in '92 are they considered vintage? :D
Oh, the mistery of vintage, fashion, re-fashion....... ^^

  14. Ha, so cool that you linked back to the old post with the sweater, I had totally forgotten how you looked like with dark shorter hair! It's such a huge difference to how you look now! But I like your hair either way and I also like it when you collect "traces of time" on your clothing - like with your sweater :)

  15. yeah I know, fashion and culture is a cycle, but this is the first time that I actually notice that I re-like the things I used to like personally! THE END OF AN ERA :D

  17. the best thing about blogging for me is it fortifying my memory, I can remember most of my blogposts where normally days just become a blur after a while! I prefer my look now, I looked so dorky :D haha
