Sometimes, just SOMETIMES when I feel particularly in the mood to dream (or torture myself), I take a late night e-walk around net-a-porter.com. Usually I browse for things like "WHAT WOULD I WEAR IF I WAS A CHARACTER ON SEX AND THE CITY" or "WHAT DESIGNER WOULD DRESS ME IF I WAS A CELEBRITY GETTING MARRIED" (Erdem? Marchesa? De La Renta? McQueen? Rodarte?). You know, the usual stuff. I often come across as a hater of expensive shiz and designers because they are in no way within my spending range, but I don't mind LOOKING at pretty things! I mean sure, sometimes random shit gets sold for big bucks and then I find it a bit aggravating, but if something is REALLY pretty I don't mind! It's like those tv-shows where the host takes some random British couple to check out available villas in the South of France: not in my list of possibilities, but still nice to look at! So yeah, I like looking at stuff other people buy sometimes. Which is why I accepted to host the net-a-porter Faces of Fashion campaign. Little snippets of interviews with goldengirls like Theodora Richards getting down in lace maxi-dresses? Yes please! I love me some rock royalty. And then Patti Hansen says something along the lines of "oh, we just came back from our summer house in ..." and then I cry a bit. But just a bit! How do you feel about expensive stuff?

Hahahaha ja dat doe ik ook, "wat zou ik aandoen als ik een moderne prinses Zelda zou zijn" of "wat zou ik dragen als real life anime personage" :-D. Die jurk van Theodora Richards is zalig. En ja, the terminal is geweldig, ik zeg super vaak vrij randomly "MEDICINE FOR GOAT!" :-D Super lieve scene.
ReplyDeleteIf it's expensive because of quality, originality and craftsmanship, I am totally down. I will happily shell out several hundred dollars for a unique handmade pair of high-quality footwear. I will however NOT shell out hundreds of dollars for an overpriced run-of-the-mill item made "special" because of its high-end brand name.
