For me, the best way to transition from carefree summer dressing to covering up for the colder months, is keep my legs bare for as long as possible while I add layers everywhere else. Long sleeves, a suede mini skirt and knee boots provide enough coverage to keep the tights in the closet a bit longer, and it also makes fall feel more like a distinctly different season from winter, which helps me not get sick of my cold weather clothes as quickly.

I have to admit I'm happy to pull out some favourite pieces from last year, like this vintage suede skirt  and these boots. Both were altered by the way, I shortened myself (used to be midi length, very Kardashian but not something that works with my style), and I had the boot shaft taken in by a cobbler to fit my legs better. It feels like I'm finally at that stable, accomplished point in life where I can invest in quality pieces that I will continue to love and wear for many seasons to come, although I have to admit some trendy Forever21 pieces still make their way into my wardrobe when the change in weather prompts a shift in me as well. I'm still bitter about Forever21 leaving Belgium, but I've already done some group orders with my girlfriends to reduce the shipping cost, and returning items is actually really cheap and easy so I can still get my boho fast fashion fix when I need it.

My favourite piece, however, is the Bitch Perfect necklace I designed on Onecklace.com. The brand reached out to me for a collaboration since I'd been constantly wearing a name necklace I won in one of their giveaways, and I had a blast creating different options which you will see on the blog soon. This Bitch Perfect necklace was inspired by my girlfriend group, since we have joked about becoming a girl band named Bitch Perfect. I don't know what I'd do without my squad, and now I can carry them with me wherever I go. FYI, for this necklace I used the sterling silver tiny cursive font, which is on sale right now!

the sweetest bitches you'll ever meet

Our weekend was lovely, by the way! I think we experienced the most beautiful September 24th Belgium has ever seen (super warm and sunny), and while the weather wasn't as good on Sunday, we snuggled up on the couch under a blanket and got up to speed with some of our favourite TV series. I finally managed to finish American Horror Story Hotel (loved the season, best one since Asylum!), so now we're ready to get started on the new series. If you've got any series recommendations, shoot!

Hope you like the look! I especially enjoyed how light my hair looks here. I guess every brunette dreams of being (kind of) blond once in her life. And I'm excited to go even lighter in the future.
