crop top: ASOS - slacks: H&M - sandals: Birkenstock Salina sandals - rings: H&M, COS, Diamanti Per Tutti - double pearl earring: Ebay
Going from white and girly in one post to black and edgy in the next, minimalism really does have many faces. I put this look together when trying on outfits for Stéphanie Duval's Alpronista Sky Box soiree, but decided against it because wearing a crop top to dinner is too gutsy even for me. I didn't want to feel like I should be sucking in my stomach for pictures rather than letting go and enjoying myself all night. I revisited the outfit for a day of chilling at home though, a much less self-conscious setting. This look is very on trend, or maybe already kind of played out? I've never been a real trend setter, except with my ombre hair. Either way, I really like the proportions and how it's kind of sexy, kind of androgynous and very laid back. Effortless sex appeal on Birkenstocks, lulz.
Btw, about the birkenstocks, I probably already mentioned this but I bought them right before leaving for France, and I'm so glad I did. Last weekend, I pulled out a pair of my fall/winter boots and wore them for like an HOUR before the ultra flat, supportless soles started killing my feet. I'm totally bummed out about not being able to wear Birkenstocks every single day, so I think the odds are 90/10 that I'll end up being one of those vague art teacher-esque types who wear Birkenstocks year round, with socks on cold days. I ended up buying the Salina type btw, a model I hadn't seen online or in stores before. They are perfect for my flat, narrow feet. Birkenstocks come in two foot widths (narrow and regular) and sole types (soft and regular) so be sure to do some research or ask for a professional's advice before buying your own pair. If you get the right type, you'll be walking on clouds.

Perfection in a nutshell!

You're bringing sexy b(l)ack!
But I'll take it! :D
ReplyDeletesuper leuke outfit! love it
ReplyDeleteOn trend or not this outfit is pure AWESOMENESS to me. Also I need to buy this Birkenstock model. Love my Gizehs, but those are really interesting looking! Love the middle strap. And I am so sad that summer is gone and I can't wear my Birkis anymore :(
ReplyDeleteLeuke outfit!
Groetjes
mbt de photoshop: NEVER
ReplyDeletembt zooltjes: staat op mijn to do lijst!
be sure to check the sole width on the pair you wear! there should be a print of a foot in the footbedding, and if it's filled in it's a narrow sole, whereas if the foot is just outlined, it's a wide sandal.

Thank you!! I bought my Gizehs spontaneously and didn't care about the widths unfortunately, but now I know, I have a the narrow one! :) <3

ReplyDeleteMy god, ik denk dat ik de niet zachte birkenstocks heb dan, they kill my pinky toes :(
ReplyDeleteMooi model!
Naomi, x
