Black and White

 coat: Pull&Bear - sweater: H&M - sneakerwedges - c/o the fab shoes - watch: c/o Swatch dress worn as skirt: topvintage.nl

Yeay yeah I know I've been a little filter happy the past few days, but I guess these grey days just need some extra pizzaz. And sometimes when your outfit consists of only black and white, it can be a fun idea to put a filter on that shit to make the color contrast pop even more. I thought the vintage-y filters work even better because my outfit has a bit of a retro vibe (even though I funked it up with my sneaker wedges).

I wore this to work, made me feel like a real grown up! And I am completely in love with this sweater. Like I said before: I've been seriously obsessed with finding the perfect fluffy knit and I totally lucked out when I finally found this one at H&M for only 15€. It's everything I wanted and more! I bought it like three sizes too big because it's meant to be super tight and cropped, and I enjoy the slightly square shape like this. Can't wait to wear it with a plethora of outfits!

Question: do you enjoy these photo filters or do you think they look stoopid? (please don't hurt my feelings)

  1. I don't mind some filtering, but it's always nice to have a picture where you can see the true colors of the outfit as well.

  2. even if the outfit is black and white? :D and I wonder, why does it matter to you? I mean, you want to see a pretty outfit, right? So what does it matter if the colors are filtered if it looks pretty? Not trying to be annoying here btw, I'm seriously curious because I actually thought the same thing about including one "normal" picture and then I didn't :D

  14. I like the filters. Maybe not every day, every outfit, but I think they look really cool here. I love this kind of outfit because it seems easy, almost careless, but really representative of personality and yeah, good for work, which I'm all over at the moment. Totalllly love the quite adult silhouette with the sneakers. They really make it stand out.
Question: do you find those sneakers elongate your legs or cut them up? I really like this sort of look, but not having mile-long legs like you, am not sure I could really work it the same.

  15. my legs really aren't that long, just average I think. I really feel like sneakerwedges elongate my legs: they appear to be flats to the eye if someone looks at you with a fleeting glance, so your legs look about 10 cm longer than they would in normal sneakers. Most sneaker wedges also have a hidden platform to go along with the wedge, so they are supremely comfortable while adding height and a bit of elegance. If you get some in a solid color, or in colors that work well with most of your tights and trousers, I'm sure you'll feel like they make your legs look great!

And I totally finally settled on going with the sneaker wedge trend because I like them so much with more classically elegant outfits rather than only urban outfits. That's also why the ones I bought are all in muted shades. I would like to keep wearing these after the fad passes, because I really do like how modern they look with an elegant outfit that's appropriate for work.

Thanks for your feedback! I was wearing ankle boots with the look earlier but that made it so plain, so I switched into sneakers. And glad you enjoy the filters some of the time :) I agree btw, filters just get obnoxious if they are SO present all the time.

  16. I suppose it's just because when you see someone wearing an outfit irl, you're not seeing them through a filter either, so I just want to know what the outfit would "really" look like and how the colors of the outfit would interact with their surroundings (!) I suppose I wouldn't necessarily "need" an unfiltered picture, any filter that doesn't change the color scheme too much would be fine with me (e.g. the second to last picture in this post). Then again, it's your blog, and you can do whatever the hell you want with it ;)

  17. you totally make sense, thank you for explaining it to me! Whenever I ask questions like that in my blog, it's more about trying to understand why people think a certain way than about finding out what you want so I can give you what you want, you know? People and their thought patterns just fascinate me!
