Like I told you guys a few days ago, we hosted a BBQ this weekend. I worked my ass off to prepare everything (making salads, choosing the right meats, prepping the BBQ and the garden, ...) and in the end it paid off: the garden looked wonderful and the food was great! I had never cooked on a BBQ before so I was pretty stoked that nothing burned (badly) or remained undercooked. Turns out, BBQing is one of my (many) hidden talents. Who'da thunk it?
I dressed to fit the hostess/BBQ theme in one of my vintage dresses that sort of resembles an apron and a picnic blanket, in the best way possible.
dress: Vintage - sunglasses: Ebay - espadrilles: New Look - belt: Primark
Dressing the part makes ANY event a 100% more fun for me. And now for the food! Potato salad (potatoes, cherry tomatoes, chives, boiled eggs, spring onions, mayo, lemon juice and seasoning), pasta salad (fusili, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, canned tuna, red onion, olives and a dressing of mustard, lemon juice, honey, olive oil and white wine vinegar), various meats (beef, mixed skewers, chicken merguez, lamb and more) and some delicious, runny, roasted camembert to dip bread in.
For decoration, I used colorful paper tablecloths and placemats and these cute little lanterns I bought for 5€ a string at Action, some supercheap megastore. I bought 6 and draped them all over our backyard. At night they light up, during the day they just look cheerful.
Hope I inspired you!
