Hey guys, I have been feeling calm and collected today and I felt like doing a proper blogpost again, so here I am. I have no idea how to deal with everything in my life right now so I'm just going to go with what feels right! And right now, I feel like posting an outfit.
I put together this look around my headscarf: it's one of those scarves that come with a pliable inner wire to keep things in place: no need for knots, just twist the ends around each other until you have the desired amount of extra fabric left for the bow part.
I went with a simple outfit in red, white and black, classic rather than retro but finished with retro details like my lovely cat eye sunglasses, red lips and of course my headscarf. I guess you could say I was inspired by Carrie from Wishwishwish (check out that blog if you don't know it already!), the queen of simple retro hairdos.
I did my hair like this again, I call it my upside down french twist. Super easy (just twist and pin!) and relaxed yet put together: so me.
Fall has totally swooped in here: today was a beautiful day with sun, a stiff breeze and some random bits of rain here and there. Believe me: it is SO much easier to accept disappointing summer weather when you just tell yourself it's fall.
headscarf: Pimkie
shirt, sandals, nailpolish: H&M
skirt, purse: T2 vintage
ring: Alex Monroe
PS: Check out Tavi's new project: Rookiemag! SO excited about this one.
you are so right about doing what feels right! i love the bright red skirt! really pops up! how simple can a look be, it is such a powerful look! of course, the scarf is the absolute highlight! it would look completely different without it!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to function normally when something as tragic happens, but in the end it's the thing that keeps you sane. You look marvelous! I'm drooling over the skirt and you're my queen of scarfs!

ReplyDeleteI realllly like this outfit. Oh, and I agree about summer weather vs. fall. Now that it's fall, I've calmed down a lot. A couple of weeks ago, I was furious with the weather!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about your dad and I'm thinking of you - I hope all will be well! On a more positive note, you look stunning in that gorgeous pleated skirt.
