Same photo location as my last outfit, but what can I say: I just really seem to have a thing for bike stands. No, I'm kidding, it was all about the light. After months of winter, the sun almost caught me off guard. How can I make the best of these new conditions without drowning in harsh direct light, or seeking refuge in the shade? Solution: shooting against the light. Almost always gives a lovely result, unless you are wearing all black (too much contrast). Whereas late afternoon light turns golden during summertime, these late winter/early springdays are more pink-tinged, as if foreshadowing the arrival of blossoms everywhere. Lovely.
The dress is new, picked it up for about 15€ at Forever21 after stalking it online. It was basically sold out in three seconds on the webshop, so I was elated to find a big batch of these in my local store. The dress is light, made of natural fiber (I don't do polyester anymore), comfortably loose fitting and it has a beautiful floral print grounded in black. A good dark-light floral print is perfect for transitional weather, because it works just as well with bare legs as with my blackest of black fleece lined tights. I'm sure I'll get lots of wear out of this one. And yes, those are real bare legs! This weekend is grey and sad, but last weekend was glorious. The weather forecast is promising warmth and sun for the first days of the next work week, so hopefully you'll be able to use this post as inspiration for your own first forray into spring dressing! :-)

This is such a perfect spring outfit! I just love how comfy and cute that dress is. Hooray for finding it at the store. Sometimes I spy something I want on their website that's sold out too. I'm thrilled when I find my size in the store!
