Sometimes you discover amazing places just a few miles from where you live. After driving me to one of the interviews I need to conduct for my master's thesis, my sweet boyfriend helped me look for a nice backdrop. I wanted to do my lovely new dress justice, and the spring sun was perfect for a little walk. When we saw an elegant fence in an ordinary street in the center of Waasmunster, I couldn't wait to take a closer look. Most of the time, these sort of fences guard something worthwhile. We weren't disappointed, just look at that beautiful villa in the background! Even the monumental tree was gorgeous.
Apparently, the villa is part of the Roosenberg abbey. I really wanted to get a closer look, so we started walking, following the fence. We were super dorkily psyched when we found a path into the domain, through a pond with ducks, allowing us a view past the gate.
Can I live there, please? I'll brew all the beer those monks want me too! The oath of chastity will be more of an issue, I'm afraid. But it's the 21st century, dudes!
When we followed the path across the pond, we ended up at a path through the woods where the light was simply stunning. I got a little carried away, I hope you enjoy the pictures! My new Me and Maria dress looks so stunning with my red hair, I'm pretty much in love.
