I just got back from the River Island press event for their spring/summer 2011 collection and it was great! The clothes I saw were nice, I am not completely crazy about the pieces I saw but I do love the “trends” they are presenting. A bit of fifties influence, a bit of Marc Jacobs S/S 2011 inspiration (that disco  slash Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver collection), a bit of safari neutrals in seventies silhouettes and, as always, DELICIOUS shoes and bags and whatnot. I tried on a floppy seventies hat that I found on the floor and I intend on buying it one of these days, it was absolutely perfect. I’m kind of tired now so I’m not in the mood to get into all the resizing etc, but I’ll upload a good bunch of pics from the event tomorrow!
I had a blast with my model friend Paulien who invited me there (thanks again sweetheart!).

This is what I wore, something very simple that would represent my style and that I’d feel comfortable in. Feeling comfortable in your own skin is key when meeting up with models, stylists and all kinds of gorgeous girls at some event as a rookie blogger. My lace bodycon dress, my new vintage shoes (loooove), one of my signature flower headbands (got complimented on it by Kim from Allaboutthestyle at the event!), a simple black blazer and my leopard coat because it was cooooold! There were loads of other important fashion people in gorgeous outfits, which was very cool. I even networked a bit, but that wasn’t all that hard since the girls present were all just super sweet (I'm looking at you, Sofie!). Other cool chicks present: Emma, Tiany, Cindy and Krizia!

YES SOPHI there were snacks!! The mini brownies were sensational. And the best thing? We all got a 100 euro gift voucher to spend at River Island! I'll most definitely be shopping there one of these days... Gotta have those mustaches. And those cute swallow bags!

What are your favorite pieces? That brown skirt is divine in real life, it's in this soft, supple suede <3
