I was just concerned with staying warm, and since this dress is probably the warmest garment I own (and I can only wear it during those few very cold winterdays) so yeah, it had to come out of my closet. And because it was THAT cold, a bit of extra faux fur and my over the knee boots. Every inch of my body covered except for face and hands. And my face and hands were practically freezing off taking these pictures, but after hearing some other chictopians calling our -10°celsius WARM (yes I’m looking at you, jennastevie) I don’t want to be a whiny bitch about it anymore. And all the snow actually makes it feel less cold, so that’s all I’ll be saying about the weather for today. I always talk about the weather, so boring right? But it really is our main concern when picking clothes, so it seems logical that we talk about the weather.
Anyway, I love this all over color palette broken up by my vibrant lipstick. Simple and classy, no? And the camel and brown hues are very in this fall/winter, so I’m terribly on trend. I’m usually not a ton sur ton kind of person, but I actually really like this and think I should try it more often. It’s feels very sophisticated.
I’m almost done with that annoying Uni task I’ve been nagging about, so I’m really relieved that one’s out of my way. Next week we’ll get the follow up task to this task, I hope that one will be slightly more doable than the last one. Weeks of encoding celebrity gossip articles works really mind numbing, in case you were wondering.
PS we saw some Marlene Dietrich movies in our History of Narrative Film class yesterday. I never really got her appeal from looking at her pictures, but she is truly enchanting when you see her walk, talk, sing and dance. Beautiful, sensual and strong. A nice change from the ever fainting Lillian Gishes of this world.
Yes! The return of the dress!
ReplyDeleteThat's so true about the weather, first thing you have to think about when picking your outfit is the weather and if you'll be warm enough or cool enough in Summer.
ReplyDeleteYour dress looks gorgeous with the fur and your lipstick really suits you.
I love this look on you - everythikng about it is perfect. The chic colour of the dress, the glam fur collar, and the 70s style tan boots. Fab :)

Yeah, -10 is still absurdly cold. No matter how cold it might be for other people. That's still really damn cold. Haha.
ReplyDeleteI love this look! It's quite timeless and chic.
Marlene Dietrich is quite a nice change from the simpering, powerless female movie stars of her time :)
