Oh how I love this skirt. I love its vibrancy, I love how it fits me perfectly, I love how it’s perfect for twirling, I love how it goes with everything and I LOVE how it’s vintage, which means I will not be seeing everyone wearing the exact same skirt, and that it was cheap! 10 euro, no prob! Before I started wearing secondhand clothes, I never really got all the loving rants of vintage fiends about how every piece is unique, has a story and sets you apart from the crowd. My answer always was: oh what the heck, the way I style my H&M mass produced garments sets me apart from the crowd too! And I was right to a certain degree, but everything changed when I bought my first vintage things. This skirt is one of those first buys, and I was hooked immediately. It makes you feel like your clothes are just a tiny bit more special than everyone else’s. You can compare it to buying the VERY last item of your dreams in your VERY size at a reduced price in some highstreet store: it feels like that item had been waiting there for you to pick it up and love it. This is the feeling you get with each and every gorgeous secondhand find you put in your shoppingbag. It is totally worth it and I recommend trying this out to every boy and girl out there: shopping vintage feels a bit like christmas morning.
I wanted to combine the skirt in an unexpected way and I had my mind set on wearing a short cardi with a blouse, and since these colors sort of went together enough I settled on these pieces. The burgundy fishnets add a little interest, and my clogs just look perfect with longer skirts. My boyfriend still hates them btw, I don’t think he’ll get used to them like he does with other weird stuff I wear.
My hair is getting so long! And I love it! It still has volume, and I can put it in a little ponytail: one of the pleasures a girl forgets when having had short hair for years and years.
Have a nice day!

ReplyDeleteWow I love the last dress you put the other day!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteToday's outfit it's really original! It can only be worn by you!!!!!!! ;)
It's excactly the thoughts I had when I bought my first second hand clothes. I want to feel unique because everybody (the mainstream people) look the same. And it's very ecologically too. Had a little shopping spree yesterday in my fave second hand store. Sometimes it's like opening a present when u walk around the clothes to find your perfect piece. I tried on a dark red skirt yesterday but I don't feel comfortable wearing red. But as I could see on you it looks great with dark hair!
ReplyDeletered looks amazing on us, you should try it! :D

Well of course I totally love vintage, and I'm so glad when other people 'get' it too. And this skirt is such a gorgeous vibrant colour, you couldn't ever feel sad wearing it.
