Well it depends on the setting and the dress code, but I wouldn't wear something black and it's possibly too casual. Okay, I admit I am a bit old fashioned about that. But you really look so gorgeous in colorful prints, so maybe go for something more lively instead? :)

Here are some links including some inspiration. :)
http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/dresses/bandeau-maxi-dress_206553258

http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/dresses/lace-maxi-dress_208662050?icSort=-bestSellerScore

http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/dresses/lace-maxi-dress_208662050?icSort=-bestSellerScore

http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/dresses/jewel-neck-maxi-dress_205332450?icSort=-bestSellerScore

http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/dresses/strapless-maxi-dress_206502619?icSort=-bestSellerScore

http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/dresses/strapless-paisley-maxi-dress_205737109?icSort=-bestSellerScore

And I also think you could easily wear one of these dresses:

http://stylingdutchman.blogspot.com/2010/05/last-dance-with-mary-jane.html

http://stylingdutchman.blogspot.com/2010/04/ma-ma-ma-ma-maaa-baker.html

I hope I don't sound rude.
pff...
