Sitting on the grass in a photogenic fashion always seems a lot simpler in theory. I looked like damn fool in most of my attempted shots but this last one wasn't too bad so I kept it in. Even though I look about as comfortable as someone trying to ride a giraffe.
I picked up this skirt a few weeks ago (along with that blue plaid one from two posts ago) for 2 euro's at T2 vintage. It's linen, airy, floral and white + blue, basically perfect in every way. The parka is a recent purchase too. I don't know why, but I've been CRAVING a parka the past few months because I imagined them being everything I missed in the coats department. Yeah yeah, I know, I have all the outerwear a girl could possibly need, but parkas were still a definite missing feature and they would lend that effortless, classic practicality to any of my girly outfits. So this one had to come home with me. I really like it as an addition to every outfit I've tried it with, so expect to see me wearing this a lot! How could I ever live without a tan coat? SO versatile.
I did a feature on Crimson Rosella's blog a while ago and it went up today, go check her out! I love her blog by the way, she is quirky and her style is an awesome mix of retro and crazy catlady, just the way I like (LOVE) it. And her hair is tdf. See what I did there? Instantly upped my street cred by using a hip abbrev.
ALSO, I feel so much cooler and with it-er since I've started using Twitter yesterday. Feel free to add me, link is in my sidebar! My tumblr as well btw, I love tumblr. I'm so multi-something. AND eloquent.

super cute... i love the total springy feel of this look. i need a tan jacket too... not sure if i want a parka or a blazer though... i have a true blazer addiction...
ReplyDeleteOoooh, this skirt is right up my alley right now. I have been thrifting skirts like crazy recently, I just want more and more! I feel pretty special that my hair got mentioned in a hip abbrev!
ReplyDeleteGirl, you know you love those sexy grass poses. I refuse to sit down, unless it's on a log. Too hard to get the angles right. My feet always look bigger than my head and stuff. You are wearing separates again today! Go you!
ReplyDeleteThat skirt was a great find! Also, I just fell for that ring of yours--too bad rings do not get along with my fingers.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I don't know that there is such a thing as "too much outerwear."
Find me at Just Take a Bow.
You always come up with the most marvelous colour combos-- coral, blue and green, wonderful! Sitting shots ARE tricky, I don't think you look award though.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe those clogs are from H & M, don't think we have anything like those in the U.S. stores. :(
Oooh I loove that skirt!!!! It is sooo pretty! Great deal on it too!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes...the simplest poses are SO hard to do...so annoying

Such a pretty pretty skirt! Also, love that parka from H&M- I have the same one in the dusty rose color! :) I love the color of your shoes! And I saw your feature on Crimson Rosella- loved what you said about keeping it real!

and oh hi- welcome to twitter! it is a lot of fun/great at helping me avoid my school work ;) just added you! :)
ReplyDeletei love that you couldnt live without the parka, so like me re. outerwear, another coat? of course i need it. absolutely loving these shots hun, very pretty with your gorgeous spring feminine outfit ;)
ReplyDeleteI think the real trick of looking cool when sitting down in a picture is to have someone else take it. In my experience with a self-timer, it's a lot of rushing back and forth to the camera, then trying to look casual and cute in ten seconds. I had a pretty successful sitting on a rock short last week, so I guess it's possible!
ReplyDeletei absolutely LOVE this look. it's beautiful. your skirt is awesome, and i love the pop of coral with all the blues and greens. so lovely <3

ReplyDeleteI bought a long floral skirt recently, inspired by you and you badass you always look in your gorgeously feminine tea-length skirts! I have yet to rock it, but this post of yours has me itchin' to take the plunge any day now :)

I adore the outfit photos. I've never really mastered the art of being photographed while sitting. :D
ReplyDeleteI think my biggest issue with sitting on the ground is that I worry I'm going to stain my clothing haha. I'd have been too paranoid to sit on grass with a white skirt!
