Do any of you guys watch Cougar Town? I didn’t expect much of it, but it has proven to be hilarious at moments and just very nice at other times. I look forward to it every week! Especially the supporting characters are fantastic, I love the neighbouring couple.
After my class ended early yesterday, I had a bit of spare time before I had my train to catch so I dropped into this second hand store I almost never visit even though it’s near my university. Somehow, the musty smell and the poorly lit store didn’t really entice me to flick through the rails with focus and concentration. However, this time I was motivated. I had been waiting for our high street shops to carry the perfect knee-covering skirts I have been lusting over, but to no avail. Only Zara had some, but they were expensive and didn’t fit right. So I hit the rails of skirts and within minutes, I had five perfect contenders in my arms, all with a price tag of 10 euro. Not bad at all! I tried them on and finally settled on a red pleated skirt and a navy A line skirt. I really have to stress how lucky I was: both skirts fit me PERFECTLY (that’s more than I can say of most stuff I buy in the “normal” stores) and were the exact thing I had been looking for: high waisted, not too full, modest but fun and perfect with both flat boots and heels. I don’t wear heels on a day to day basis, so that last demand was very important. Also because I wanted to play up the girly schoolgirl vibe of midi skirts but give it some edge with nineties style army boots and band shirts. I can’t wait to start creating outfits with my new purchases!
I also found a BEAUTIFUL blouse I had to leave in the store because my not even that ample boobage made it impossible for me to close the button near my boobs. I think it was a boy’s shirt. But it was definitely seventies, cut-wise, with this long, pointy collar and slim fit, and the print was amazing: it was covered in profile shots of this 1920s lady wearing a cloche hat. It almost reminded me of the Miu Miu naked ladies print style wise! I think I might go back to buy it even though it doesn’t fit, and try to find a solution to alter it or something. That print was way too good.
Ok that’s it, I’m going to start on some schoolwork! Enjoy your day!

ReplyDeleteI have the same "problem" with my favourite second hand store...it's directely near my university and it smells not good inside...so I had to wash all the new stuff I bought there before wearing it the first time. But be not ashamed of buying clothes there...you have individual and unique pieces when you shop second hand.
Oh you and I are in the same boat. I've been desperately looking for some new skirts and it is nearly impossible to find something easily. I'm glad you finally had some luck and found some! I can't wait to see how you style them!
